كشفت مصادر «عكاظ» أن مدرب المنتخب السعودي حدد بداية شهر أكتوبر القادم موعداً لمعسكر الأخضر الإعدادي للملحق الآسيوي المؤهل لكأس العالم 2026 في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وكندا، والمكسيك.
وقرر الاتحاد الآسيوي إقامة القرعة الرسمية للملحق الآسيوي الخميس 17 يوليو القادم 2025، بعد اعتماد كل من الاتحادين القطري والسعودي للعبة من أجل استضافة مباريات ملحق التصفيات الآسيوية المؤهلة لنهائيات كأس العالم 2026. وتشارك في هذا الملحق 6 منتخبات حصلت على المركزين الثالث والرابع في الدور الثالث من التصفيات الآسيوية، وهي: إندونيسيا، العراق، سلطنة عمان، قطر، السعودية، والإمارات. وسيتم تقسيم المنتخبات الستة إلى مجموعتين، تضم كل منهما 3 منتخبات، تتنافس بنظام التجمع خلال الفترة من 8 إلى 14 أكتوبر القادم من العام 2025.
ويتأهل صاحب المركز الأول في كل مجموعة مباشرة لنهائيات كأس العالم، التي تقام بالولايات المتحدة والمكسيك وكندا العام القادم، ليكتمل بذلك عدد المنتخبات المتأهلة عن قارة آسيا بشكل مباشر.
أما المنتخبان الحاصلان على المركز الثاني في كل مجموعة فسيتواجهان في مباراتي ذهاب وإياب، يومي 13 و18 نوفمبر 2025، ويتأهل الفائز منهما للملحق العالمي المؤهل إلى المونديال.

Sources from "Okaz" revealed that the Saudi national team coach has set the beginning of October next year as the date for the Green's preparatory camp for the Asian playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Asian Football Confederation has decided to hold the official draw for the Asian playoff on Thursday, July 17, 2025, after the Qatari and Saudi football federations were approved to host the matches of the Asian qualifying playoffs for the 2026 World Cup finals. Six teams that finished in third and fourth place in the third round of the Asian qualifiers will participate in this playoff: Indonesia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The six teams will be divided into two groups, each consisting of three teams, competing in a round-robin format from October 8 to 14, 2025.
The team that finishes first in each group will qualify directly for the World Cup finals, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada next year, thus completing the number of teams qualifying directly from Asia.
As for the two teams that finish second in each group, they will face each other in home-and-away matches on November 13 and 18, 2025, with the winner qualifying for the global playoff for the World Cup.
