دافع آرني سلوت مدرب ليفربول، عن نجم الفريق محمد صلاح، بعد الانتقادات التي وُجّهت له على خلفية تراجع مستواه خلال الفترة الأخيرة.
وواصل النجم المصري صيامه التهديفي أمام تشيلسي خلال المباراة التي خسرها ليفربول بنتيجة 2-1، أمس (السبت)، ضمن منافسات الجولة السابعة من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز (بريميرليغ).
وفي تصريحات نقلها الموقع الرسمي لنادي ليفربول، ردّ المدرب الهولندي على سؤال حول ما إذا كان الفريق يفتقد اللمسة الحاسمة لصلاح، قائلاً «هذا سؤال مثير للاهتمام، لكن: هل صنع كل هذه الفرص أمام تشيلسي لأنه لم يشارك في منتصف الأسبوع؟ أم أنه أضاع بعض الفرص لأنه افتقد شيئًا من الحدة التي كان سيحصل عليها لو شارك ضد غلطة سراي؟ لن نعرف أبداً».
صلاح في الأماكن التي يحبها.. لكن!
وأضاف: «ما يعجبني هو أننا نجحنا في وضعه في المراكز التي يفضّلها، والتي أرغب أنا أيضًا في رؤيته فيها، لأنه أثبت طوال مسيرته، ومنذ أن توليت تدريب الفريق، أنه قادر على التسجيل عندما يتواجد في تلك المناطق».
واختتم مدرب ليفربول تصريحاته برسالة دفاع واضحة عن نجم الفريق: «أعتقد أنه سنحت له العديد من الفرص أمام تشيلسي ليفعل ما اعتاد فعله مراراً، لكنه في النهاية بشر، ليس من الواقعي أن يتوقع الجميع أن يُترجم كل فرصة إلى هدف، رغم أننا نشعر أحياناً بذلك، بسبب ما قدمه الموسم الماضي وفي مرات عديدة من قبل».

The Egyptian star continued his goal drought against Chelsea during the match that Liverpool lost 2-1 yesterday (Saturday) in the seventh round of the Premier League.
In statements reported by the official Liverpool website, the Dutch coach responded to a question about whether the team misses Salah's decisive touch, saying, "That's an interesting question, but: Did he create all those chances against Chelsea because he didn't play midweek? Or did he miss some opportunities because he lacked some sharpness that he would have gained if he had played against Galatasaray? We'll never know."
Salah in the places he loves.. but!
He added, "What I like is that we managed to put him in the positions he prefers, which I also want to see him in, because he has proven throughout his career, and since I took over coaching the team, that he is capable of scoring when he is in those areas."
Slot concluded his remarks with a clear defense of the team's star: "I believe he had many opportunities against Chelsea to do what he has done repeatedly, but in the end, he is human; it's not realistic for everyone to expect him to convert every chance into a goal, even though we sometimes feel that way because of what he delivered last season and many times before."
