أعلن الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم، اليوم (السبت)، عودة حسن الهيدوس إلى صفوف «العنابي»، للمشاركة في ملحق تصفيات كأس العالم 2026، بعد فترة من الاعتزال الدولي.
وقال الاتحاد في بيان: «في خطوة إيجابية، واستجابة لطلب مدرب المنتخب الوطني جولين لوبيتيغي لتعزيز الفريق بعناصر ذات خبرة، يتصدر حسن الهيدوس قائمة المنتخب الوطني لملحق تصفيات كأس العالم 2026».
وأضاف البيان: «من المتوقع أن يُضيف وجوده قيمة فنية ومعنوية، من خلال قيادته ودعمه الفريق، في سبيل تحقيق الحلم الكبير الذي تتطلع إليه جماهير «العنابي»، وهو التأهل إلى كأس العالم 2026».
يُذكر أن الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم أعلن في وقت سابق من الشهر الجاري، أن السعودية وقطر ستستضيفان مباريات ملحق التصفيات الآسيوية المؤهلة إلى نهائيات مونديال 2026.
ويشارك في الملحق ستة منتخبات، حلت في المركزين الثالث والرابع ضمن مجموعاتها في الدور الثالث من التصفيات الآسيوية، وهي: السعودية، إندونيسيا، العراق، عُمان، قطر، الإمارات.
The Qatari Football Association announced today (Saturday) the return of Hassan Al-Haydos to the ranks of the "Maroon" team to participate in the playoff for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, after a period of international retirement.
The association stated in a statement: "In a positive step, and in response to the request of the national team coach Julen Lopetegui to strengthen the team with experienced players, Hassan Al-Haydos tops the list of the national team for the playoff of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers."
The statement added: "His presence is expected to add technical and moral value, through his leadership and support for the team, in pursuit of the great dream that the fans of the 'Maroon' aspire to, which is qualifying for the 2026 World Cup."
It is worth noting that the Asian Football Confederation announced earlier this month that Saudi Arabia and Qatar will host the matches of the playoff for the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals.
Six teams will participate in the playoff, which finished in third and fourth place in their groups in the third round of the Asian qualifiers, namely: Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE.
