هاجم يورجن كلوب، مدرب فريق ليفربول الإنجليزي السابق، الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا)، بسبب بطولة كأس العالم للأندية 2025 التي تُقام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لأول مرة بمشاركة 32 فريقاً.
وقال كلوب في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة «آس» الإسبانية: «كأس العالم للأندية أسوأ فكرة طُبِّقت في كرة القدم على الإطلاق. أشخاصٌ لا علاقة لهم بالواقع اليومي قطّ يبتكرون أفكاراً».
وأضاف: «أخشى أن يُصاب اللاعبون في الموسم القادم بإصاباتٍ لم يسبق لها مثيل، وإن لم يحدث ذلك، فسيحدث في كأس العالم للمنتخبات (2026) أو بعده. تُقام هذه البطولة في وقتٍ غير مناسب ولأسبابٍ خاطئة».
يُذكر أن الهلال ضمن مقعداً في ثمن نهائي مونديال الأندية، عقب الفوز على باتشوكا المكسيكي بنتيجة 2-0، فجر الجمعة، ليختتم الزعيم دور المجموعات في المركز الثاني بالمجموعة الثامنة برصيد 5 نقاط، خلف ريال مدريد المتصدر بـ7 نقاط.
ويستعد الهلال لمواجهة من العيار الثقيل أمام مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي، في ثمن نهائي مونديال الأندية، فجر الثلاثاء القادم.
Jurgen Klopp, the former coach of Liverpool FC, has criticized the International Football Federation (FIFA) regarding the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States for the first time with the participation of 32 teams.
Klopp stated in remarks reported by the Spanish newspaper "AS": "The Club World Cup is the worst idea ever implemented in football. People who have nothing to do with daily reality are coming up with ideas."
He added: "I fear that players will suffer unprecedented injuries next season, and if that doesn't happen, it will occur in the World Cup for national teams (2026) or afterward. This tournament is being held at an inappropriate time and for the wrong reasons."
It is worth mentioning that Al Hilal secured a spot in the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup after defeating Pachuca from Mexico 2-0 early Friday, finishing the group stage in second place in Group 8 with 5 points, behind the leaders Real Madrid with 7 points.
Al Hilal is preparing for a heavyweight clash against Manchester City from England in the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup, early next Tuesday.
