أعلن قائد الأمن الداخلي في محافظة السويداء حسام الطحان، تحرير اثنين من مواطني المحافظة، اختُطفا منذ نحو شهر ونصف الشهر. وشدد الطحان على أن قوى الأمن الداخلي ستواصل جهودها لتحرير جميع المختطفين.
وتأتي هذه العملية بعد تحرير 5 مواطنين آخرين من أبناء السويداء قبل يومين، في بلدة المسيفرة بريف درعا الشرقي.
من جهة أخرى، نفى مسؤول سوري ما تردد عن وجود ذهب في ريف درعا الشمالي جنوبي البلاد، بعد انتشار مزاعم بشأن مغارة تحتوي على كميات من المعدن الأصفر.
وقال مدير منطقة الصنمين وائل الزامل في بيان نشرته محافظة درعا ليل السبت: «تتابع مديرية منطقة الصنمين ما يتداول على وسائل التواصل حول اكتشاف مغارة تحتوي على ذهب، أثناء حفر قبو أحد المنازل في مدينة الحارة».
وأوضح أن ما ظهر حتى الآن فتحة صغيرة خلال أعمال الحفر، وما زالت طبيعتها مجهولة، ولم تسجل أي مشاهدة أو دليل على وجود ذهب في الموقع.
ولفت إلى أن وحدات الأمن اتخذت إجراءات في المنطقة لمنع حالات التدافع، بعد ازدياد أعداد المواطنين حول مكان الحفر، حفاظا على سلامتهم، لافتا إلى انتظار وصول فريق مختص من مديرية الآثار لإجراء الكشف الفني وتحديد طبيعة الفتحة بشكل دقيق.
وشدد الزامل على عدم الانجرار وراء الشائعات، مطالبا وسائل الإعلام بتحري الدقة والمصداقية في نقل الأخبار، وحذر من أن استمرار التجمعات قد يعرض حياة السكان لخطر التدافع والازدحام.
ونقل تلفزيون سورية عن مصادر محلية، قولها إن أعدادا كبيرة من الأهالي تتجمع منذ ساعات حول موقع الحفر، في حين يواجه الأمن الداخلي صعوبة في فض التجمعات، واضطر لإطلاق النار تحذيرا، وسط أنباء عن سقوط جريح، مشيرة إلى أن قوى الأمن فرضت حظر تجوال بمدينة الحارة.
ولفتت شبكة «درعا 24» الإخبارية المحلية، إلى أن كميات من الذهب عثر عليها في المنطقة ذاتها خلال السنوات السابقة، وكان النظام السابق قد سيطر عليها آنذاك.
The head of internal security in Sweida Governorate, Hussam Al-Tahan, announced the release of two citizens from the governorate who were kidnapped about a month and a half ago. Al-Tahan emphasized that the internal security forces will continue their efforts to free all hostages.
This operation comes after the release of 5 other citizens from Sweida two days ago in the town of Al-Mseifra in eastern Daraa countryside.
On another note, a Syrian official denied rumors about the existence of gold in northern Daraa countryside in the south of the country, following the spread of claims regarding a cave containing quantities of the yellow metal.
The director of the Sanamin area, Wael Al-Zamel, stated in a statement published by Daraa Governorate late Saturday: "The Sanamin area directorate is monitoring what is being circulated on social media about the discovery of a cave containing gold while digging a basement in one of the houses in the city of Al-Hara."
He explained that what has been revealed so far is a small opening during the excavation work, and its nature remains unknown, with no sightings or evidence of gold at the site recorded.
He pointed out that security units have taken measures in the area to prevent crowding, following an increase in the number of citizens around the excavation site, to ensure their safety, noting that they are waiting for a specialized team from the Antiquities Directorate to conduct a technical inspection and accurately determine the nature of the opening.
Al-Zamel stressed the importance of not getting carried away by rumors, urging media outlets to verify accuracy and credibility in reporting news, and warned that continued gatherings could put residents' lives at risk of stampedes and congestion.
Syria TV reported from local sources that large numbers of residents have been gathering for hours around the excavation site, while internal security faces difficulties in dispersing the crowds and was forced to fire warning shots, amid reports of an injury, indicating that security forces imposed a curfew in the city of Al-Hara.
The local news network "Daraa 24" pointed out that quantities of gold had been found in the same area in previous years, which was under the control of the former regime at that time.
