ضرب خالد بن يحيى صديق عطيف، أروع الأمثلة في الإيثار والتضحية، حين تبرع بكليته ليُنهي معاناة شقيقه إبراهيم مع مرض الفشل الكلوي، امتثالا لقوله تعالى {وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا}. في موقف إنساني نبيل يعبر عن معنى الوفاء والأخوة الصادقة.
صاحب هذه البادرة التي مثلت أنموذجاً إنسانياً في الوفاء والإخلاص، قرر التبرع بإحدى كليتيه لشقيقه، لينهي معاناته التي استمرت مع الغسيل الكلوي شبه اليومي، بعد عمل الفحوصات الطبية وتطابقها.
وقد مُنحَ وسام الملك عبدالعزيز تقديراً لهذا الموقف الإنساني والأخوي النبيل.
Khalid bin Yahya struck a remarkable example of altruism and sacrifice when he donated one of his kidneys to end his brother Ibrahim's suffering from kidney failure, in compliance with the saying of Allah {And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely}. This noble humanitarian act expresses the meaning of loyalty and true brotherhood.
The owner of this initiative, which represented a humanitarian model of loyalty and sincerity, decided to donate one of his kidneys to his brother to end his suffering that had continued with almost daily dialysis, after medical tests confirmed compatibility.
He was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal in recognition of this noble humanitarian and fraternal act.
