أعلنت وزارة الداخلية السورية اليوم (الأربعاء) القبض على اللواء في صفوف قوات النظام السابق، أكرم سلوم العبدالله، موضحة أن العملية جرت بعد جمع معلومات استخباراتية دقيقة حول مكان وجوده.
وأوضحت الوزارة في بيان أن اللواء العبدالله شغل عدّة مناصب عسكرية بارزة، من بينها قيادة الشرطة العسكرية في وزارة الدفاع بين 2014 و2015، خلال فترة حكم النظام السابق وتورط في ارتكاب انتهاكات جسيمة بحق المعتقلين في سجن صيدنايا العسكري، مبينة أن التحقيقات الأولية أظهرت أن اللواء الموقوف كان مسؤولاً مباشراً عن تنفيذ عمليات تصفية المعتقلين داخل سجن صيدنايا (السجن العسكري الأول) أثناء توليه قيادة الشرطة العسكرية، ما جعله أحد أبرز المسؤولين عن الانتهاكات الممنهجة التي شهدها السجن في تلك المرحلة.
وأشارت الوزارة إلى أنها أحالت العبدالله إلى الجهات المختصة لاستكمال التحقيقات تمهيداً لعرضه على القضاء المختص، لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة بحقه ومحاسبته على الجرائم التي ارتكبها.
وكانت وزارة الداخلية السورية قد أعلنت، الإثنين، القبض على العقيد السابق محمد نديم الشب في محافظة اللاذقية، الذي يُعدّ الذراع اليمنى لقائد مليشيا «صقور الصحراء» محمد جابر خلال فترة نظام بشار الأسد.
وأشارت إلى أن الشب تورّط في تنفيذ عمليات استهدفت مواقع تابعة للأمن الداخلي ووزارة الدفاع في مدينة اللاذقية، مشيرة إلى أن التحقيقات ما تزال جارية لمعرفة الجهات التي كان يتعامل معها والمخططات التي كان يشارك في تنفيذها.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced today (Wednesday) the arrest of Major General Akram Saloum Al-Abdullah, a former member of the regime's forces, explaining that the operation took place after gathering precise intelligence about his whereabouts.
The ministry clarified in a statement that General Al-Abdullah held several prominent military positions, including the leadership of the military police in the Ministry of Defense between 2014 and 2015, during the rule of the former regime, and was involved in committing serious violations against detainees in Sednaya military prison. It indicated that preliminary investigations revealed that the detained general was directly responsible for carrying out operations to eliminate detainees inside Sednaya prison (the first military prison) during his tenure as the head of the military police, making him one of the key figures responsible for the systematic violations witnessed in the prison during that period.
The ministry noted that it has referred Al-Abdullah to the relevant authorities to complete the investigations in preparation for presenting him to the competent judiciary to take the necessary legal actions against him and hold him accountable for the crimes he committed.
On Monday, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of former Colonel Mohammed Nadeem Al-Shab in Latakia province, who is considered the right-hand man of the leader of the "Desert Hawks" militia, Mohammed Jaber, during the period of Bashar Al-Assad's regime.
It pointed out that Al-Shab was involved in carrying out operations targeting sites belonging to the internal security and the Ministry of Defense in the city of Latakia, noting that investigations are still ongoing to identify the parties he was dealing with and the plans he was participating in executing.
