رجحت شبكة «سي إن إن» تأجيل اللقاء المرتقب في المجر بين الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ونظيره الروسي فلاديمير بوتين.
ونقلت الشبكة الأمريكية عن مسؤولين أمريكيين قولهم إن «آمال ترمب في عقد اجتماع مع بوتين قد تتعثر».
وأعلن المتحدث باسم الكرملين دميتري بيسكوف أن أمام موسكو وواشنطن مهمة شاقة قبل قمة بودابست بين الرئيسين الروسي والأمريكي.
وردا على سؤال عن الأجواء الحالية في الكرملين بشأن القمة القادمة، وما إذا كان من الممكن التحضير لها بسرعة أم أنها ستكون عملية طويلة، قال بيسكوف للصحفيين، اليوم (الثلاثاء): «الأجواء إيجابية، لكن العمل سيكون صعبا».
واعتبر المتحدث باسم الكرملين أن من السابق لأوانه الحديث عن مشاركة أي دولة من دول الاتحاد الأوروبي في القمة الروسية-الأمريكية في بودابست.
وعلق بيسكوف على تقرير لصحيفة «بوليتيكو» الأمريكية يفيد بأن بعض دول الاتحاد الأوروبي ترغب في الانضمام إلى القمة بين الرئيسين الروسي والأمريكي، المزمع عقدها في بودابست، قائلا: «ربما يكون من السابق لأوانه الحديث عن هذا، حتى الآن، لم تناقَش أي من هذه التفاصيل».
وفي شأن آخر، أكد بيسكوف أن تدريبات حلف شمال الأطلسي «الناتو» تحظى باهتمام دائم من قبل القوات الروسية، ويتم تحليل هذه التدريبات بعناية.
وردا على سؤال حول تدريبات الناتو الجديدة، قال متحدث الرئاسة الروسية: «إن مثل هذه التدريبات تحظى دائماً باهتمام قواتنا، التي تراقب عن كثب مسار مثل هذه التدريبات. بالطبع، يتم تحليل هدف وخطط هذه التدريبات بعناية، ويتم اتخاذ التدابير المناسبة فيما يتعلق بتدريب قدراتنا».
CNN has suggested that the anticipated meeting in Hungary between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin may be postponed.
The American network reported that U.S. officials stated that "Trump's hopes of holding a meeting with Putin may falter."
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Moscow and Washington have a challenging task ahead of the Budapest summit between the Russian and American presidents.
In response to a question about the current atmosphere in the Kremlin regarding the upcoming summit, and whether it can be prepared quickly or if it will be a lengthy process, Peskov told reporters today (Tuesday): "The atmosphere is positive, but the work will be difficult."
Peskov considered it too early to talk about the participation of any EU country in the Russian-American summit in Budapest.
Peskov commented on a report by the American newspaper Politico stating that some EU countries wish to join the summit between the Russian and American presidents, scheduled to be held in Budapest, saying: "It may be too early to talk about this; so far, none of these details have been discussed."
On another matter, Peskov confirmed that NATO exercises are of constant interest to Russian forces, and these exercises are analyzed carefully.
In response to a question about the new NATO exercises, the Russian presidential spokesman said: "Such exercises are always of interest to our forces, which closely monitor the course of such exercises. Of course, the objectives and plans of these exercises are analyzed carefully, and appropriate measures are taken regarding the training of our capabilities."
