The President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, valued yesterday (Saturday) Saudi Arabia's support in enhancing tangible progress in the Yemeni national economy, the cohesion of state institutions, and restoring trust within the donor community, which contributes to improving living conditions and alleviating the burden of the humanitarian disaster caused by the Houthis.
During his chairing of a meeting that included the head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, the President of the Council praised the role of the commission in bringing viewpoints closer, unifying ranks, and supporting the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in completing economic and administrative reforms, and mobilizing energies to face intertwined challenges, highlighting the efforts of the government and the Central Bank in achieving tangible progress in terms of price and monetary reforms.
The President of the Council addressed what the battle for awareness requires in terms of responsible discourse, active diplomatic movement, and effective media in dismantling misleading narratives and enhancing the world's confidence in state institutions as a close partner in achieving security and stability, and deterring common threats.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the council and the government's commitment to taking the necessary measures to strengthen the internal front, unify the republican ranks, and address any disparities under the roof of the state, the rule of law, and return to all authorities, bodies, and supporting teams, to keep attention focused on the priorities of the transitional phase, foremost among them restoring state institutions and ending suffering.
The President of the Council warned the Houthi group against continuing its serious violations of human rights, including the arbitrary detention of United Nations employees and relief organizations, and the implications of this on the living conditions of the Yemeni people and life-saving food supplies, holding the international community fully responsible for the continuation of these violations and the impunity of their perpetrators.
Al-Alimi emphasized the need for the Reconciliation Commission to double its efforts during the upcoming phase, including activating its field mechanisms and engaging effectively with state authorities and institutions to support the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government at all levels.
For its part, the Presidency of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission confirmed the commission's full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to fulfill their constitutional duties, and to support the steps taken to enhance national unity, the presence of the state, its prestige, and its legal status both domestically and internationally.
