Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today (Monday) called on the Israeli people to extend their hand to achieve peace, emphasizing that peace is not built solely by governments but also by the peoples themselves.
El-Sisi said at a press conference with U.S. President Donald Trump: The Palestinian people have the right to determine their own destiny and enjoy freedom, pointing out that the security of peoples is not achieved through military force but through peace, which is our strategic choice.
The Egyptian president clarified that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve the legitimate aspirations of both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, stressing the necessity of implementing the Gaza Agreement to reach the two-state solution and the integration of the peoples of the region.
He noted that the region is witnessing a historic turning point, expressing hope that this agreement will close a painful chapter in human history.
El-Sisi stated: The Gaza Agreement must be implemented to reach the two-state solution and the integration of the peoples of the region, expressing his aspiration for a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction.
He added: We have a unique historical opportunity, perhaps the last, to reach a Middle East free of everything that threatens its stability and progress, where all its peoples can enjoy peace and a dignified life within secure borders, with protected rights, and free from terrorism and extremism.
For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump said: I thank the Arab and Islamic countries that enabled us to achieve this breakthrough, adding: The phase of rebuilding Gaza may be the most difficult.
He pointed out that the war in Gaza has ended and aid has begun to flow, emphasizing: Together we achieved what everyone said was impossible, which is peace in the Middle East.
