أطلقت قوات العمالقة الجنوبية المتمركزة في باب المندب، اليوم (الجمعة)، حملة أمنية لملاحقة مهربي المخدرات في المنطقة الساحلية القريبة من المضيق جنوب غربي اليمن، وتمكنت من ضبط كمية من المخدرات وعدد من المهربين.
وقال مصدر عسكري إن قوات العمالقة، بالتنسيق مع الحملة الأمنية المشتركة، داهمت أحد أوكار تهريب وتجارة المخدرات في مديرية المضاربة ورأس العارة بمحافظة لحج، وضبطت 28500 قرص من مادة البريجابالين المخدِّرة، كما ألقت القبض على اثنين من عناصر التهريب، موضحاً أن القوات فتحت محاضر تحقيق مع الموقوفين، وحرزت المضبوطات تمهيداً لنقلها إلى الجهات المختصة لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة.
وتُعد هذه العملية الثانية خلال أقل من ثلاثة أيام، بعد أن ضبطت القوات، الثلاثاء الماضي، قارباً يحمل 150000 حبة من مخدر الكبتاغون، وأوقفت ثلاثة مهربين في عرض البحر قبالة سواحل باب المندب بمحافظة لحج، وأحالتهم إلى الجهات المختصة.
وشدد عضو مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اللواء عبدالرحمن المحرمي (أبو زرعة)، على ضرورة مضاعفة الجهود في محاربة التهريب وتأمين السواحل، مشيداً بما حققته قوات الحملة الأمنية المشتركة من نجاحات خلال الأيام الماضية.
وكانت الأجهزة الأمنية قد ضبطت خلال الأشهر القليلة الماضية كميات كبيرة من شحنات المخدرات في السواحل اليمنية وميناء عدن والمنافذ البرية، إلى جانب عدد من شحنات الأسلحة المهربة، وقد لاقت هذه اليقظة الأمنية ترحيباً واهتماماً يمنياً ودولياً واسعاً.
The Southern Giants Forces stationed in Bab al-Mandab launched a security campaign today (Friday) to pursue drug traffickers in the coastal area near the strait in southwestern Yemen, managing to seize a quantity of drugs and apprehend several traffickers.
A military source stated that the Giants Forces, in coordination with the joint security campaign, raided a drug trafficking hideout in the districts of Al-Mudharabah and Ras al-Ara in Lahij Governorate, seizing 28,500 pills of the narcotic substance pregabalin, and arrested two trafficking suspects. The source explained that the forces opened investigation records with the detainees and secured the seized items in preparation for transferring them to the relevant authorities for necessary legal actions.
This operation is the second within less than three days, after the forces seized a boat carrying 150,000 pills of the drug captagon last Tuesday and detained three traffickers at sea off the coast of Bab al-Mandab in Lahij Governorate, referring them to the relevant authorities.
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Abdulrahman al-Mahrimi (Abu Zar'a), emphasized the need to double efforts in combating smuggling and securing the coasts, praising the successes achieved by the joint security campaign forces in recent days.
In recent months, security agencies have seized large quantities of drug shipments on the Yemeni coasts, at the Port of Aden, and at land crossings, along with several shipments of smuggled weapons. This security vigilance has received wide recognition and interest both nationally and internationally.
