حذر نائب الرئيس الإيراني محمد رضا عارف اليوم (الإثنين) من تجدد الحرب مع إسرائيل في أي لحظة، مبيناً أن وقف إطلاق النار الساري منذ أواخر يونيو قد لا يدوم طويلاً.
وقال عارف في مقابلة مع أكاديميين في طهران: «علينا أن نكون مستعدين للمواجهة في أي لحظة، نحن لسنا في ظل وقف لإطلاق النار، نحن في حالة وقف الأعمال العدائية».
كان مستشار القائد العام للقوات المسلحة الإيرانية، اللواء يحيى رحيم صفوي، قد أكد في وقت سابق اليوم، أن احتمال اندلاع حرب جديدة وارد في أي لحظة، مؤكداً أن طهران تعد نفسها لمواجهة أسوأ الاحتمالات.
ونقلت وكالة «إرنا» عن صفوي قوله: «إيران ليست في وقف لإطلاق النار، بل في مرحلة حرب»، مشيراً إلى أن أي تهدئة قد تنهار في أي وقت، لاسيما في ظل غياب أي بروتوكولات أو اتفاقيات مع الولايات المتحدة أو إسرائيل.
من جهة أخرى، قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية، إسماعيل بقائي اليوم، إن إيران تعتزم عقد جولة أخرى من المحادثات مع الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية التابعة للأمم المتحدة في غضون الأيام القادمة.
وأكدت إيران أن برنامجها النووي مخصص للأغراض المدنية فقط.
وشنت إسرائيل حرباً غير مسبوقة على إيران في 13 يوينو الماضي ضربت خلالها أهدفاً نووية وعسكرية، إضافة الى مواقع مدنية، ما أسفر عن مقتل أكثر من ألف شخص، بينهم علماء نوويون وقادة عسكريون.
Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref warned today (Monday) of the possibility of renewed war with Israel at any moment, indicating that the ceasefire in effect since late June may not last long.
Aref stated in an interview with academics in Tehran: “We must be prepared for confrontation at any moment; we are not under a ceasefire, we are in a state of cessation of hostilities.”
Earlier today, the advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Yahya Rahim Safavi, confirmed that the likelihood of a new war breaking out is possible at any moment, emphasizing that Tehran is preparing for the worst-case scenarios.
The IRNA news agency quoted Safavi as saying: “Iran is not under a ceasefire, but in a state of war,” noting that any calm could collapse at any time, especially in the absence of any protocols or agreements with the United States or Israel.
On another note, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei stated today that Iran intends to hold another round of talks with the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency in the coming days.
Iran has confirmed that its nuclear program is intended solely for civilian purposes.
Israel launched an unprecedented war on Iran on June 13, targeting nuclear and military sites, in addition to civilian locations, resulting in the deaths of more than a thousand people, including nuclear scientists and military leaders.
