أعلن وزير الخارجية الهندي سوبرامانيام جايشانكار اليوم (الإثنين) أن بلاده والصين ترغبان في علاقات مستقرة وأفضل، خلال استقبال نظيره الصيني واينج يي في نيودلهي.
وقال جايشانكار: «بعد أن شهدنا فترة صعبة في علاقاتنا، يسعى البلدان الآن للمضي قدماً»، مؤكداً أن الاختلافات يجب ألا تتحول إلى نزاعات، ولا المنافسة إلى صراع.
وتوقع وزير الخارجية الهندي أن تسهم مناقشاته مع نظيره الصيني في بناء علاقة مستقرة وتعاونية وتطلعية بين البلدين.
وبدأ وزير الخارجية الصيني زيارة إلى الهند هي الأولى منذ 3 سنوات، والتقى خلالها عدداً من المسؤولين في نيودلهي، على غرار مستشار الأمن القومي الهندي أجيت دوفال، لبحث النزاع الحدودي بين البلدين، قبل أن يجتمع مع رئيس الوزراء ناريندرا مودي غداً (الثلاثاء).
وستحدد زيارة وانج يي واللقاءات التي يجريها في نيودلهي، ملامح المحادثات الثنائية المرتقبة بين الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينج ورئيس الوزراء الهندي أوخر الشهر الجاري، على هامش قمة منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون، وستكون هذه أول زيارة لمودي إلى الصين منذ 7 سنوات.
وكانت بكين قد خففت القيود على بعض صادراتها إلى الهند، فيما أعادت نيودلهي العمل بتأشيرات السياحة للمواطنين الصينيين، بينما يتزايد عدد الشركات الهندية التي تسعى إلى عقد شراكات مع نظيراتها الصينية في صفقات تشمل نقل التكنولوجيا، وفق «بلومبيرغ».
Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar announced today (Monday) that his country and China desire stable and better relations, during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in New Delhi.
Jaishankar stated, "After experiencing a difficult period in our relations, both countries are now seeking to move forward," emphasizing that differences should not turn into disputes, nor competition into conflict.
The Indian Foreign Minister anticipated that his discussions with his Chinese counterpart would contribute to building a stable, cooperative, and forward-looking relationship between the two countries.
The Chinese Foreign Minister began a visit to India, his first in three years, during which he met with several officials in New Delhi, including Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, to discuss the border dispute between the two countries, before meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow (Tuesday).
Wang Yi's visit and the meetings he conducts in New Delhi will shape the upcoming bilateral talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Modi later this month, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, marking Modi's first visit to China in seven years.
Beijing has eased restrictions on some of its exports to India, while New Delhi has reinstated tourist visas for Chinese citizens, as the number of Indian companies seeking to partner with their Chinese counterparts in technology transfer deals increases, according to Bloomberg.
