Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi described the allegations of Egypt's involvement in the blockade of the Gaza Strip and the starvation of its residents as "bankrupt" and "strange talk," affirming that Egypt has not abandoned its role in delivering humanitarian aid. He emphasized that the war in Gaza has turned into a systematic genocide and starvation aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, and is not merely a political conflict or an effort to free hostages.

During a joint press conference with Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Cairo today (Tuesday), Sisi announced that there are more than 5,000 aid trucks ready to enter Gaza, but Israeli control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing hinders this. He renewed his call for the international community to intervene to stop the war and facilitate the delivery of aid.

He reiterated that Egypt plays a significant role in delivering aid and attempting to stop the war, noting that this is the fifth war in which Egypt has sought to calm the situation in Gaza over the past twenty years.

Sisi stated that the Gaza Strip is connected to the outside world through five crossings, including the Rafah crossing controlled by Egypt, while Israel manages the other crossings. He added that Egypt has warned for years about the devastating effects of any military escalation in the sector.

Sisi called on his American counterpart Donald Trump, European countries, and the international community for urgent intervention to stop the war, warning that history will hold countries accountable for their positions, and that the global human conscience will not remain silent for long, affirming that the situation in Gaza is being used as a political bargaining chip. He reiterated that Egypt continues its positive efforts to support the Palestinian people, rejecting claims that accuse it of participating in the blockade.
