British Foreign Secretary David Lammy launched an attack against advocates of the Greater Israel project, reiterating his support for recognizing the Palestinian state.

Lammy announced in statements reported by the British newspaper "The Guardian" today (Saturday) that he "opposes the Israeli voices determined to see a Greater Israel and to never establish a Palestinian state." He emphasized that the two-state solution is the only viable solution, although it seems very far from being implemented on the ground today.

He pointed out that "an increasing number of people are concerned that if we continue to backtrack on recognizing Palestine, there will be nothing left to recognize."

The British minister spoke about the settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank, noting that he witnessed an increase last year that surpassed what occurred in the previous 15 years.

He described the actions of the settlers as "criminal, illegal, and condemned," warning that they "seek to undermine the two-state solution, the only viable alternative to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

Regarding the developments in the besieged Gaza Strip, Lammy described the shooting of civilians waiting for food aid as "disgusting," calling on the Israeli side to hold those involved accountable. He warned that the situation is desperate for civilians and hostages in Gaza, stressing the need for a ceasefire to end the suffering.

He revealed that he wishes to go to Gaza as soon as possible, as soon as access to the area is made available.
