The Israeli army has suspended military operations in 3 areas of the Gaza Strip, while fighting will continue outside the humanitarian zones where the ceasefire is set to be implemented.

The occupation army announced today (Sunday) the suspension of military operations in Gaza City in the north, Deir al-Balah in the center of the strip, and the Mawasi area in the south, from 10 AM to 8 PM daily until further notice. It stated that safe passages will be provided for the movement of UN relief convoys and the delivery of aid.

It confirmed that fighting will continue outside the areas designated for the ceasefire, warning the residents of Gaza against heading to these areas, cautioning that it is prepared to expand operations if necessary.

The Israeli website "Walla" quoted security sources as saying that Israel is expected to grant Hamas a few additional days before making a decision regarding negotiations and the next steps in Gaza.

According to the sources, the Israeli army has several military plans ready to be implemented in case negotiations with Hamas fail.

A spokesperson for the occupation army announced the resumption of aerial aid drops over Gaza on Saturday night, while Palestinian sources confirmed the start of aid deliveries in northern Gaza.

The army stated in a statement that the drop operations carried out by foreign countries are resuming "as part of ongoing efforts to allow aid to enter Gaza and facilitate its entry," adding that the first drop operations will include seven shipments containing flour, sugar, and canned food provided by international organizations.

It emphasized that the responsibility for distributing food supplies to the residents of the strip lies with the United Nations and international relief organizations. It said it expects the UN and international organizations to improve the effectiveness of aid distribution and ensure that it does not reach Hamas, as it expressed.

It noted that it has been decided to establish humanitarian corridors that allow UN convoys and international organizations to move safely for the purpose of bringing food and medicine to the residents of Gaza. The army's statement did not specify when the humanitarian corridors for UN convoys will open, or where they will be opened.

The Israeli army had announced that it is preparing for periods of temporary suspension of military operations for humanitarian purposes in densely populated areas, but stressed that combat operations have not stopped in Gaza.
