أعلنت شرطة العاصمة البريطانية لندن اليوم (السبت) اعتقال 55 شخصاً خلال مسيرة نظمتها حركة «فلسطين أكشن» المحظورة أمام مبنى البرلمان، وأوضحت الشرطة في منشور على حسابها في «إكس» أن الحشد تجمع في ساحة البرلمان وأخذ يلوّح بلافتات تدعم الحركة التي حُظرت هذا الشهر بموجب قانون مكافحة الإرهاب.
ونظم محتجون تجمعاً أمام البرلمان مرتدين الكوفية الفلسطينية لكن الشرطة كانت قد حذرت من أي تجمع لصالح هذه الحركة التي قرر مشرعون بريطانيون حظرها مطلع الشهر الجاري، وذلك بعد أن اقتحم أعضاؤها قاعدة للقوات الجوية الملكية وألحقوا أضراراً بطائرتين احتجاجاً على دعم بريطانيا لإسرائيل.
واعتبرت الشرطة الانضمام إلى الحركة الآن بمثابة جريمة قد تصل عقوبتها إلى السجن لمدة تصل إلى 14 عاماً، لكن الحركة اعتبرت القرار «استبدادياً» وطعنت فيه داخل المحكمة العليا في لندن، التي من المتوقع أن تنظر فيه (الإثنين).
وتعتبر حركة «فلسطين أكشن» التي تأسست عام 2020 من الجماعات الرافضة لجرائم إسرائيل في فلسطين، وتحولت من حركة احتجاجية تقليدية في بريطانيا إلى ظاهرة تعتمد على العمل المباشر ضد شركات أسلحة مرتبطة بإسرائيل، لكن الشرطة ومنذ إعلان الحظر أصدرت تعميماً يحذر من التعاطف مع الحركة، وألقت القبض على عشرات من أنصارها خلال مسيرات في أنحاء بريطانيا.
ويخول القانون البريطاني وزارة الداخلية القبض على كل من ينتمي إلى حركات أو مجموعات تشجع الإرهاب أو ضالعة فيه.
The British capital's police in London announced today (Saturday) the arrest of 55 individuals during a march organized by the banned movement "Palestine Action" in front of the Parliament building. The police clarified in a post on their account on "X" that the crowd gathered in Parliament Square and began waving banners supporting the movement, which was banned earlier this month under anti-terrorism laws.
Protesters organized a gathering in front of Parliament wearing Palestinian keffiyehs, but the police had warned against any gathering in support of this movement, which British lawmakers decided to ban at the beginning of this month, following an incident where its members stormed a Royal Air Force base and caused damage to two aircraft in protest against Britain's support for Israel.
The police considered joining the movement now to be a crime that could result in a prison sentence of up to 14 years, but the movement deemed the decision "tyrannical" and challenged it in the High Court in London, which is expected to hear the case on Monday.
The "Palestine Action" movement, founded in 2020, is one of the groups opposing Israel's crimes in Palestine. It has transformed from a traditional protest movement in Britain to a phenomenon relying on direct action against arms companies linked to Israel. However, since the announcement of the ban, the police have issued a directive warning against sympathizing with the movement and have arrested dozens of its supporters during marches across Britain.
British law empowers the Home Office to arrest anyone belonging to movements or groups that encourage or are involved in terrorism.
