أفصحت صحيفة «هآرتس» الإسرائيلية أن حجم الدمار في غزة أكبر مما كان يعتقد، مؤكدة أن تدمير المباني في القطاع المنكوب أصبح يتم بواسطة مقاولين إسرائيليين خاصين يعملون تحت إشراف الوحدات القتالية لجيش الاحتلال.
وبناء على تحليل صور الأقمار الاصطناعية وخبراء، فإن ما لا يقل عن 70% من المباني في غزة أصبحت غير صالحة للسكن. وأكدت الصحيفة أن إسرائيل دمرت 89% من المباني في رفح منذ بداية الحرب، كما دمرت 84% من المباني في شمال القطاع.
وفي وسط القطاع، أعلنت أن 78% من المباني في مدينة غزة قد دمرت بشكل كلي أو جزئي. وكشفت أن تدمير مباني قطاع غزة يتم بواسطة مقاولين إسرائيليين يعملون تحت إشراف الجيش الإسرائيلي. وأوضحت الصحيفة أن المقاولين الإسرائيليين يتقاضون نحو 5 آلاف شيكل (نحو 1500 دولار أمريكي) مقابل كل مبنى يدمرونه.
وحسب «هآرتس»، فإن المقاولين الإسرائيليين يضغطون على القادة الميدانيين بالجيش الإسرائيلي لتوسيع مناطق التدمير في القطاع الفلسطيني.
ومنذ السابع من أكتوبر 2023، تشن إسرائيل حرب إبادة جماعية على قطاع غزة أسفرت عن مقتل وإصابة أكثر من 196 ألف فلسطيني، معظمهم من الأطفال والنساء، إضافة إلى أكثر من 11 ألف مفقود تحت الأنقاض، وسط دمار شامل للبنية التحتية ومجاعة حصدت أرواح العديد من المدنيين.
