قتل نحو 20 شخصاً في موقع لتوزيع المساعدات الإنسانية في خان يونس، اليوم (الأربعاء)، بحسب ما أعلنت مؤسسة غزة الإنسانية.
وأفادت المؤسسة التي تحظى بدعم من إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة، أن 19 شخصاً لقوا حتفهم جراء التعرض للدهس، فيما تعرض شخص للطعن حتى الموت خلال التدافع في أحد مراكز التوزيع في خان يونس.
وقال مسؤولون في مجال الصحة إن 20 فلسطينياً على الأقل لقوا حتفهم اختناقاً في الموقع، وأفاد أحد المسعفين بأن كثيرين حُشروا في مساحة صغيرة وسُحقوا في التدافع.
وأفادت مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان بأنها وثقت 875 حالة وفاة على الأقل خلال الأسابيع الستة الماضية بالقرب من مواقع وقوافل المساعدات في غزة، معظمها في محيط نقاط توزيع المساعدات التابعة لمؤسسة غزة الإنسانية. وسقط معظم القتلى في محيط مواقع مؤسسة غزة الإنسانية، بينما قُتل الباقون وعددهم 201 على طرق تمر عبرها قوافل إغاثة أخرى.
وتستعين مؤسسة غزة الإنسانية بشركات أمنية ولوجستية أمريكية خاصة لإيصال الإمدادات إلى القطاع. وبدأت المؤسسة توزيع الطرود الغذائية في غزة في أواخر مايو بعد أن رفعت إسرائيل حصاراً استمر 11 أسبوعاً على دخول المساعدات.
وكانت الأمم المتحدة، انتقدت نموذج مؤسسة غزة الإنسانية مؤكدة أنه «غير آمن بطبيعته» ويشكل انتهاكاً لمعايير الحياد الإنساني.
وتعمل المؤسسة خارج نظام المساعدات الذي تنسقه الأمم المتحدة، وتستعين بمتعاقدين أمريكيين للأمن واللوجستيات من القطاع الخاص لإيصال المساعدات.

About 20 people were killed at a humanitarian aid distribution site in Khan Younis today (Wednesday), according to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
The foundation, which is supported by Israel and the United States, reported that 19 people died from being trampled, while one person was stabbed to death during the stampede at one of the distribution centers in Khan Younis.
Health officials stated that at least 20 Palestinians died from suffocation at the site, and one paramedic reported that many were packed into a small space and were crushed in the stampede.
The United Nations Human Rights Commission reported that it has documented at least 875 deaths over the past six weeks near aid sites and convoys in Gaza, most of them around the distribution points of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Most of the fatalities occurred around the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sites, while the remaining 201 were killed on roads used by other relief convoys.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation relies on private American security and logistics companies to deliver supplies to the sector. The foundation began distributing food parcels in Gaza in late May after Israel lifted an 11-week blockade on the entry of aid.
The United Nations criticized the model of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, stating that it is "inherently unsafe" and constitutes a violation of humanitarian neutrality standards.
The foundation operates outside the aid system coordinated by the United Nations and employs American contractors for security and logistics from the private sector to deliver assistance.
