السلطات الأردنية تعلن القبض على أخطر مهربي المخدرات

The spokesperson for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate announced today (Tuesday) that a special security force and drug enforcement teams raided the location of one of the most dangerous wanted individuals in drug smuggling cases across the borders, confirming his arrest along with two of his associates.

The spokesperson clarified in a statement published by the news agency (Petra) that the main suspect attempted to smuggle large quantities of narcotics across the borders using balloons and in coordination with drug smuggling gangs in a neighboring country, which the Jordanian armed forces announced they had thwarted days ago in coordination with security agencies and the drug enforcement administration.

The spokesperson said: The raid today came after a long effort and intelligence work, gathering information, monitoring, and investigating several smuggling cases that the armed forces managed to thwart in recent days, resulting in the identification of one of the most dangerous wanted individuals in those cases. He confirmed that the suspect, along with two others, immediately opened fire at the security force upon their raid.

He pointed out that the rules of engagement were applied with them, and the security force managed to control the situation and arrest the three suspects. It was found that the main wanted individual and one of the persons with him were injured and were taken to the nearest hospital, while all the firearms used by the suspects were seized.

He added: This operation comes as part of a series of joint qualitative operations aimed at uprooting the roots of drugs, stopping smuggling operations, cutting off the path for drug dealers and traffickers, and halting their threat to community security and the safety of its individuals, emphasizing that there will be no leniency with this category of death dealers, and the security forces will be vigilant against them with all firmness, decisiveness, and strength.
