رئيس الوزراء اليمني يستعرض أولويات الحكومة التي تتطلب دعماً دولياً

The Yemeni Prime Minister, Salem Saleh bin Brek, received today, Tuesday, in the temporary capital of Aden, the Head of the European Union Mission, Gabriel Vinales, along with ambassadors from several EU countries accredited to Yemen. During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed the current situation in Yemen and the serious repercussions of the ongoing economic war waged by the terrorist Houthi militia on the Yemeni people, in addition to the continued halt of oil exports and its catastrophic impacts on living and humanitarian conditions, discussing the measures taken to address this.

He touched upon the efforts made by the government to fulfill its commitments in providing services to citizens and its ongoing implementation of the required reforms. He emphasized the importance of enhancing partnership with the international community in supporting the government's priorities.

The meeting addressed the latest developments at the local, regional, and international levels, as well as ways to support the government's priorities. The Prime Minister presented the EU ambassadors with the complex challenges faced by the government in economic, service, and humanitarian aspects, which have multiplied due to the decline in public revenues caused by the terrorist attacks of the Houthi militia on oil export ports and their targeting of commercial ships and international navigation. He clarified that these challenges require serious international support for the legitimate government and the activation of economic and developmental files, rather than merely relying on humanitarian approaches.

He confirmed that the government, as part of the economic recovery plan approved by the Presidential Leadership Council, is working on implementing structural reforms in public finance, improving resource management, and expanding partnership with the private sector, in addition to measures to enhance transparency and combat corruption.

The Prime Minister praised the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, whose economic, developmental, and humanitarian interventions have been a key factor in the state's continued fulfillment of its obligations over the past years. He called on the European Union to play a larger role in supporting the government's efforts to implement its priorities in achieving economic stability and alleviating the living suffering of citizens.

For their part, the Head of the EU Mission and the European ambassadors renewed their support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Yemeni people in these exceptional circumstances, confirming that this visit is a message of collective support for the government and its efforts, and coordination to identify areas of support according to urgent priorities, aiming to achieve economic stability and alleviate humanitarian suffering.
