أبدى المبعوث الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف اليوم (الأحد) تفاؤله بشأن مفاوضات وقف إطلاق النار في قطاع غزة المحاصر، موضحاً للصحفيين أنه سيلتقي مع مسؤولين قطريين كبار في نيوجيرزي اليوم على هامش نهائي كأس العالم للأندية.
وجددت حركة حماس اليوم تأكيدها على أن أي مفاوضات يجب أن تفضي لـ«إنهاء الحرب وانسحاب قوات العدو بالكامل وفتح المعابر وإعادة الإعمار»، موضحة في بيان أنها بحثت مع حركة الجهاد في الدوحة تطورات المفاوضات الجارية وردود إسرائيل على المقترحات التي قدمها الوسطاء للوصول إلى وقف إطلاق نار وسبل التعامل معها.
وأشارت إلى أن «أي مفاوضات يجب أن تفضي لتحقيق أهداف شعبنا وتطلعاته، وفي مقدمتها إنهاء الحرب وانسحاب قوات العدو بالكامل وفتح المعابر وإعادة الإعمار».
وكان رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي، بنيامين نتنياهو قد اتهم في وقت سابق اليوم حركة حماس برفض صفقة وقف النار وتبادل الأسرى في غزة، رغم قبول تل أبيب بمقترح ويتكوف وتعديلات الوسطاء.
وقال نتنياهو في تصريحات للصحفيين: «حماس» تتمسك برفض أي صفقة، كما تصر على الاستمرار في تعزيز قوتها العسكرية في قطاع غزة، وهو ما اعتبره غير مقبول تماماً.
من جهة أخرى، طالبت عائلات الأسرى الإسرائيليين في غزة بإعادة «جميع المحتجزين» من غزة فوراً، خلال وقفة لتلك العائلات أمام مكتب رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو بالقدس المحتلة للمطالبة بصفقة تبادل ووقف الحرب.
واتهمت العائلات نتنياهو بمحاولاته مجدداً خلق صورة زائفة كأن التوصل إلى اتفاق شامل مستحيل، مشيرة إلى أن تصريحاته تبدو بداية محاولة لإفشال المساعي لإبرام صفقة كما فعل في السابق.
وقالت عائلات الأسرى الإسرائيليين إن الحكومة فشلت مراراً وتكراراً في إعادة المحتجزين بسبب مصالح سياسية ضيقة، موضحة أن الحقيقة هي أن أكثر من 80% من الشعب يريد اتفاقاً ينهي القتال ويعيد كل المحتجزين لكن من يفسد الاتفاق يتصرف بخبث ضد إرادة الشعب في سبيل البقاء السياسي.

The American envoy Steve Witkoff expressed optimism today (Sunday) regarding the ceasefire negotiations in the besieged Gaza Strip, explaining to reporters that he will meet with senior Qatari officials in New Jersey today on the sidelines of the FIFA Club World Cup final.
Hamas reiterated today that any negotiations must lead to "ending the war, the complete withdrawal of enemy forces, the opening of crossings, and reconstruction," stating in a statement that it discussed with Islamic Jihad in Doha the developments of the ongoing negotiations and Israel's responses to the proposals put forth by the mediators to achieve a ceasefire and ways to deal with them.
It emphasized that "any negotiations must lead to achieving the goals and aspirations of our people, foremost among them ending the war, the complete withdrawal of enemy forces, the opening of crossings, and reconstruction."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier accused Hamas of rejecting the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal in Gaza, despite Tel Aviv's acceptance of Witkoff's proposal and the mediators' amendments.
Netanyahu stated in remarks to reporters: "Hamas" insists on rejecting any deal, while it continues to strengthen its military power in the Gaza Strip, which he deemed completely unacceptable.
On another note, families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza demanded the immediate return of "all detainees" from Gaza during a demonstration by those families in front of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office in occupied Jerusalem, calling for a prisoner exchange deal and an end to the war.
The families accused Netanyahu of attempting once again to create a false image as if reaching a comprehensive agreement is impossible, pointing out that his statements seem to be the beginning of an attempt to undermine efforts to reach a deal, as he did in the past.
The families of the Israeli prisoners stated that the government has repeatedly failed to secure the return of the detainees due to narrow political interests, clarifying that the truth is that more than 80% of the people want an agreement that ends the fighting and returns all detainees, but those who sabotage the agreement act maliciously against the will of the people for the sake of political survival.
