كشفت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قدما عرضا «مثيرا» لرئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، تضمن اتفاقا مع سورية مقابل إنهاء الحرب على غزة.
ونقلت صحيفة «إسرائيل هيوم»، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، عن مصادر في البيت الأبيض أن «ترمب عازم على وقف القتال في غزة، ولهذا الغرض يُبرم اتفاقيات سلام إقليمية بين إسرائيل وجيرانها. ومن أهم ركائز حزمة الجزرة التوصل إلى اتفاق بين إسرائيل وسورية». وأفصحت أن مبعوثًا باسم ترمب غادر إلى دمشق بهدف استكمال الاتفاق بين إسرائيل وسورية بضمانة أمريكية، خلال الأيام القادمة. تزامن ذلك مع رفع العقوبات الأمريكية عن هيئة تحرير الشام (جبهة النصرة).
وأضافت أن ترمب يعتقد أن الاتفاق مع سورية سيساعد نتنياهو سياسيًا على تخفيف حدة موقفه بشأن جبهة غزة.. ومن المقرر أن يغادر المبعوث الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف إلى الدوحة، لإجراء مفاوضات حول صفقة الأسرى وشروط وقف إطلاق النار.
وحسب الصحيفة، فإن ترمب يطمح إلى أن يكون من الممكن بحلول الخميس القادم، أثناء وجود نتنياهو في واشنطن، سد الفجوات والاحتفال بإتمام التوصل إلى اتفاق بشأن الأسرى يتضمن وقف إطلاق نار لمدة شهرين قابل للتمديد، وصياغة اتفاق مع سورية، مع ضمانات أمريكية لأمن إسرائيل.
ونقلت الصحيفة عن مسؤول دبلوماسي إسرائيلي رفيع المستوى، قوله اليوم (الثلاثاء): «إن نتنياهو قد يلتقي ترمب مرة أخرى هذا الأسبوع إذا استدعت التطورات ذلك».
وأكد المسؤول وجود فجوات كبيرة في المفاوضات مع كل من حماس وسورية، مما يتطلب عملاً جبارًا، على حد قوله.
وقال مصدر في دائرة نتنياهو في واشنطن: «كان رد حماس على الاقتراح القطري (لا) في جوهره، لكن الفجوات ضئيلة. قد يستغرق الأمر أكثر من بضعة أيام».
ولم يستبعد مسؤولون في الحكومة الإسرائيلية تمديد مفاوضات الدوحة الجارية بشأن صفقة التبادل لأكثر من أسبوع، لكنهم يعوّلون على إمكانية التوصل إلى تقدم ملموس قريبًا.
Israeli media revealed that U.S. President Donald Trump presented a "dramatic" offer to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which included an agreement with Syria in exchange for ending the war in Gaza.
The newspaper "Israel Hayom" reported today (Tuesday) from sources in the White House that "Trump is determined to stop the fighting in Gaza, and for this purpose, he is concluding regional peace agreements between Israel and its neighbors. One of the main pillars of the carrot package is reaching an agreement between Israel and Syria." It disclosed that an envoy on behalf of Trump has left for Damascus with the aim of finalizing the agreement between Israel and Syria with American guarantees in the coming days. This coincided with the lifting of U.S. sanctions on Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra).
It added that Trump believes that the agreement with Syria will help Netanyahu politically to soften his stance regarding the Gaza front. The American envoy Steve Witkoff is scheduled to depart for Doha to conduct negotiations regarding the prisoner exchange deal and the terms of a ceasefire.
According to the newspaper, Trump hopes that by next Thursday, during Netanyahu's visit to Washington, it will be possible to bridge the gaps and celebrate the completion of an agreement regarding the prisoners that includes a two-month ceasefire that can be extended, and to formulate an agreement with Syria, with American guarantees for Israel's security.
The newspaper quoted a senior Israeli diplomatic official as saying today (Tuesday): "Netanyahu may meet Trump again this week if developments warrant it."
The official confirmed the existence of significant gaps in the negotiations with both Hamas and Syria, which requires tremendous effort, according to him.
A source in Netanyahu's circle in Washington stated: "Hamas's response to the Qatari proposal was (no) in essence, but the gaps are slight. It may take more than a few days."
Israeli government officials did not rule out extending the ongoing Doha negotiations regarding the exchange deal for more than a week, but they are counting on the possibility of achieving tangible progress soon.
