After hours of news about Washington halting the shipment of weapons to Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today (Thursday) an agreement on Ukrainian-American cooperation in the production of drones, including interceptor drones.
Zelensky said in tweets on his account on "X": "We begin our visit to Denmark with an important step in our defense, and an agreement has been reached on Ukrainian-American cooperation in the production of drones, including interceptor drones, which is a clear priority," adding: "We have signed an agreement with the American company Swift Beat, which includes the production of hundreds of thousands of drones this year alone, with the potential for significantly increased production next year."

He indicated that he intends to manufacture interceptor drones to destroy aircraft, missiles, and drones, quadcopters for reconnaissance and fire adjustment, and long-range attack drones, noting that all of these will be produced in much larger numbers to assist his country in achieving its defense objectives and protecting the lives of Ukrainians.

He emphasized by saying: "Today, we will continue our work in Denmark, and we will work on new agreements of this kind, focusing on production, development, and joint defense, expressing his gratitude to those who contribute to supporting his country."

The spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), Sean Parnell, stated, "I believe that under the Biden administration, we have been distributing weapons and munitions for a very long time without even considering the quantities we have," adding: "I see that a new president has been elected so that we can put our country first and protect our homeland."

He pointed out that part of their work at the Department of Defense is to provide data to the president that enables him to assess the quantity of munitions we currently have and where we have been sending them, noting that this analysis process is currently underway.

Politico reported, citing informed sources, that the Pentagon halted some shipments of air defense missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine due to concerns about a sharp decline in U.S. stockpiles.
