أوقفت المحكمة الدستورية في تايلند، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، رئيسة الوزراء بايتونجتارن شيناواترا عن العمل على ذمة قضية تطالب بعزلها، ما يزيد من الضغوط المتزايدة على الحكومة التي تتعرض لانتقادات على جهات متعددة.
وقالت المحكمة في بيان لها: إنها قبلت عريضة من 36 عضواً في مجلس الشيوخ يتهمون فيه بايتونجتارن بخيانة الثقة وخرق المعايير الأخلاقية في انتهاك للدستور بسبب تسريب محادثة هاتفية ذات حساسية سياسية مع الزعيم الكمبودي السابق هون سين.
وأضاف البيان: «نظرت المحكمة في الالتماس، وقبلت بالإجماع القضية للنظر فيها».
ومن المقرر أن يتولى سوريا جوانجرونجروانجكيت نائب رئيسة الوزراء مهمة تصريف الأعمال، بينما تنظر المحكمة في القضية المرفوعة ضد بايتونجتارن التي سيكون لديها 15 يوماً للرد، وستظل في الحكومة وزيرةً جديدةً للثقافة بعد تعديل وزاري.
المكالمة المسربة مع السياسي الكمبودي فجّرت غضباً داخليّاً وتركت ائتلاف بايتونجتارن بأغلبية ضئيلة للغاية بعدما انسحب حزب رئيسي من الائتلاف.
ومن المتوقع التوجه نحو إجراء تصويت بحجب الثقة في البرلمان، في وقت تطالب فيه جماعات معارضة باستقالة رئيسة الوزراء.
وخلال مكالمة هاتفية مع هون سين في 15 يونيو تهدف إلى نزع فتيل التوترات الحدودية المتصاعدة مع كمبوديا، انتقدت بايتونجتارن (38 عاماً) قائد الجيش التايلندي، وهو خط أحمر في بلد يتمتع فيه الجيش بنفوذ كبير. واعتذرت بعدها وقالت إن تصريحاتها كانت مجرد «تكتيك تفاوضي».

The Constitutional Court in Thailand suspended Prime Minister Phaetongtarn Shinawatra from work today (Tuesday) pending a case demanding her removal, increasing the mounting pressures on a government facing criticism from multiple fronts.
The court stated in a statement that it accepted a petition from 36 members of the Senate accusing Phaetongtarn of betrayal of trust and violating ethical standards in breach of the constitution due to the leak of a politically sensitive phone conversation with former Cambodian leader Hun Sen.
The statement added: "The court reviewed the petition and unanimously accepted the case for consideration."
It is scheduled for Deputy Prime Minister Surya Juangroongruangkit to take over the duties of running the government while the court considers the case against Phaetongtarn, who will have 15 days to respond and will remain in the government as the new Minister of Culture following a cabinet reshuffle.
The leaked call with the Cambodian politician sparked domestic outrage and left Phaetongtarn's coalition with a very slim majority after a major party withdrew from the coalition.
A vote of no confidence in Parliament is expected, as opposition groups demand the Prime Minister's resignation.
During a phone call with Hun Sen on June 15 aimed at easing escalating border tensions with Cambodia, Phaetongtarn (38 years old) criticized the Thai army chief, which is a red line in a country where the military holds significant influence. She later apologized, stating that her remarks were merely a "negotiation tactic."
