While waiting for the resumption of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, a senior Iranian official revealed a new condition for returning to nuclear talks with the U.S. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi disclosed Tehran's readiness for negotiations with Washington, provided that the idea of executing any further strikes on Iran is excluded.

In an interview with the British "BBC," he announced that the Trump administration had informed Iran through intermediaries that it wanted to return to negotiations, but did not clarify its position on the extremely important issue of carrying out further attacks during the talks.

Takht-Ravanchi confirmed that Iran would insist on its position regarding uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes, rejecting accusations that his country was secretly working to develop a nuclear bomb.

The Deputy Foreign Minister considered that Tehran has been deprived of access to the nuclear materials necessary for its research program, and thus it needs to rely on itself, noting that the level of that reliance can be discussed, as well as Tehran's capabilities.

For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated today (Monday) that he is not talking to Iran and is not offering anything to them. Trump hinted yesterday (Sunday) at the possibility of lifting sanctions on Iran if it shows goodwill. In an interview with Fox News, he stated that Iran is not currently thinking about returning to the nuclear project, adding that it is very exhausted.

He confirmed that Iran did not have time to transfer uranium before the recent U.S. strikes. He considered that the recent war was costly for Iran.

Trump denied reports that his administration discussed the possibility of helping Iran obtain up to $30 billion to build a civilian nuclear energy program.
