أكد وزير الدفاع الأمريكي بيت هيغسيث تدمير البرنامج النووي الإيراني. وقال في تصريحات، اليوم (الأحد): «إن الهجمات حققت نجاحاً مذهلاً وساحقاً». وأعلن بيت أن المهمة لم تهدف لتغيير النظام الإيراني. وقال: «إن الرئيس دونالد ترمب يسعى للسلام»، داعياً إيران أن تسلك هذا الطريق. وحذّر وزير الدفاع من أن أي رد إيراني سيقابل بقوة أكبر من الضربة الأخيرة.
وأضاف أن الضربات لم تستهدف قوات أو مواطنين إيرانيين، لكنها قضت على طموحات إيران النووية. ولفت إلى أن العملية، التي خطط لها الرئيس ترمب، جريئة ورائعة، إذ أظهرت للعالم أن الردع الأمريكي قد عاد.
وكشف أنه تم إعداد خطة قصف إيران على مدى شهور وأسابيع؛ لتكون جاهزة عندما يأمر الرئيس ترمب. فيما كشف نائب الرئيس جي دي فانس، أن واشنطن تلقت رسائل غير مباشرة من طهران.
بدوره، تحدث قائد الجيش الأمريكي عن تفاصيل ضرب المنشآت النووية. وقال: أطلقنا على العملية اسم «مطرقة منتصف الليل». وأضاف: «أمريكا استخدمت أساليب خداع عدة مع إيران أثناء التحرك لضرب المنشآت النووية». وأفاد بأن بلاده ليس لديها علم حاليّاً بأي نيران أطلقتها طهران على طائرات حربية أمريكية خلال اتجاهها إلى المجال الجوي الإيراني. وأفصح أن الجيش الأمريكي استخدم نحو 75 سلاحاً موجهاً بدقة في ضرب إيران.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the destruction of the Iranian nuclear program. He stated in remarks today (Sunday): "The attacks have achieved astonishing and overwhelming success." Pete announced that the mission was not aimed at changing the Iranian regime. He said: "President Donald Trump is seeking peace," urging Iran to take this path. The Defense Secretary warned that any Iranian response would be met with greater force than the last strike.
He added that the strikes did not target Iranian forces or citizens, but they eliminated Iran's nuclear ambitions. He noted that the operation, planned by President Trump, was bold and magnificent, as it demonstrated to the world that American deterrence has returned.
He revealed that a plan to bomb Iran had been prepared over months and weeks to be ready when President Trump ordered it. Meanwhile, Vice President J.D. Vance disclosed that Washington had received indirect messages from Tehran.
For his part, the U.S. Army Chief discussed the details of the strikes on nuclear facilities. He said: "We named the operation 'Midnight Hammer'." He added: "America used several deception tactics with Iran while moving to strike the nuclear facilities." He reported that his country is currently unaware of any fire launched by Tehran at U.S. warplanes as they approached Iranian airspace. He disclosed that the U.S. military used about 75 precision-guided munitions in the strikes on Iran.
