أعلنت سويسرا، اليوم (الجمعة)، أنها سترفع مجموعة من العقوبات الاقتصادية عن سورية، خصوصاً العقوبات المفروضة على البنك المركزي.
وأفادت الحكومة السويسرية بأن العقوبات المفروضة على الأفراد والكيانات المرتبطة بالحكومة السابقة ستظل سارية بعد الإطاحة بالرئيس السابق بشار الأسد في الثامن من شهر ديسمبر لعام 2024. وقالت في بيان إن الهدف من هذا القرار هو تعزيز الانتعاش الاقتصادي والانتقال السياسي الشامل والسلمي في سورية.
يذكر أنه بعد تخفيف العقوبات مبدئياً في شهر مارس الماضي، قالت الحكومة إن سويسرا ترفع الآن القيود على تقديم بعض الخدمات المالية، والتجارة في المعادن النفيسة، وتصدير السلع الفاخرة. وأضافت أن نحو 24 كياناً، ومنها البنك المركزي السوري، رُفعت أيضاً من قائمة العقوبات.
ويأتي الإعلان السويسري في أعقاب قرار الاتحاد الأوروبي رفع عقوباته الاقتصادية على سورية في نهاية شهر مايو الماضي، بعد خطوة مماثلة اتخذتها وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية في الشهر نفسه.

Switzerland announced today (Friday) that it will lift a set of economic sanctions on Syria, particularly the sanctions imposed on the central bank.
The Swiss government stated that the sanctions imposed on individuals and entities linked to the former government will remain in effect after the ousting of former President Bashar al-Assad on December 8, 2024. It said in a statement that the aim of this decision is to promote economic recovery and a comprehensive and peaceful political transition in Syria.
It is worth noting that after the initial easing of sanctions in March, the government stated that Switzerland is now lifting restrictions on providing certain financial services, trading in precious metals, and exporting luxury goods. It added that about 24 entities, including the Syrian central bank, have also been removed from the sanctions list.
The Swiss announcement comes in the wake of the European Union's decision to lift its economic sanctions on Syria at the end of May, following a similar step taken by the U.S. Treasury in the same month.
