حذّر من عواقب وخيمة.. خامنئي: لن نستسلم

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei emphasized that his country "will not surrender," warning that any American attack would have dire and irreparable consequences.

In reference to threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, Khamenei stated in a speech today (Wednesday): Those who know the history of Iran understand that Iranians do not respond well to the language of threats, asserting that Iran will not accept being imposed upon with peace or war, and that it "will never surrender" to pressure. The Supreme Leader reported that the Iranian armed forces are on alert and that we will not ignore any attack on our territory. Khamenei confirmed that Israel has made a grave mistake and will face consequences; we will not forgive Israel for violating our airspace. He stressed that "the people will not forget... the attack on their land" and the loss of lives, adding that "all Iranians support our armed forces."

For his part, Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian considered that national unity between the government and the people would prevent any threat from harming the country.

In a message he delivered today during a cabinet meeting, published by the Iranian presidency's website, he said: "If the people are with us, no problem will threaten the country, so all necessary steps must be taken to maintain national unity."

At the end of the meeting, the Iranian president urged officials to exercise the utmost caution and to adhere to principles of security and protection, and to work according to the directives of the relevant authorities.

For its part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated today: We are facing an illegal attack from Israel, adding: Those who attack us will receive a response.
