The occupation army announced today (Sunday) the identification of the body of Muhammad al-Sanwar, the younger brother of Yahya al-Sanwar. The Israeli website "Ynet" reported that the body of the commander of the military wing of Hamas, Muhammad al-Sanwar, was officially and definitively identified after he was assassinated in an attack in Khan Younis about a month ago. The occupation forces retrieved his remains from among several bodies recovered from the rubble of a tunnel beneath the European Hospital in Khan Younis during a special military operation, according to the news site. According to "Ynet," the operation began last Wednesday evening, supported by Israeli fighter jets. The operation was intelligence-led by the 36th Division of the Israeli army, in coordination with the General Security Service (Shabak), and included the Golani Brigade, the elite unit "Yahalom," and other intelligence forces, according to the report published by "Ynet."

The site quoted the Israeli army as saying that underground infrastructure was found, in addition to other significant discoveries "including command centers, weapon caches, and additional intelligence materials."

Reports on Saturday indicated that the Israeli army found a body in an underground complex at the European Hospital in Khan Younis, and its identity is being verified.

The army radio stated that Israeli army forces found a body within the last twenty-four hours that is believed to belong to Muhammad al-Sanwar, inside an underground complex located beneath the European Hospital in Khan Younis.

It added that the body was found inside a tunnel, along with about 10 other bodies of militants, as part of a special operation currently being conducted by the army in the European Hospital complex.
