أعلنت الهيئة العامة للموانئ «موانئ» توقيع اتفاقية مشتركة بين شركة محطة بوابة البحر الأحمر، ومجموعة CMA CGM الفرنسية، إحدى أكبر مجموعات الشحن في العالم، لتطوير وتشغيل محطة الحاويات الرابعة في ميناء جدة الإسلامي، باستثمارات 1.7 مليار ريال، وبطاقة استيعابية تبلغ 2.6 مليون حاوية قياسية، خلال فعاليات مؤتمر مبادرة مستقبل الاستثمار التاسع المنعقد في الرياض.
ووقّع الاتفاقية كل من رئيس مجلس الإدارة الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة CMA CGM رودولف سعادة، ورئيس مجلس إدارة شركة محطة بوابة البحر الأحمر عامر علي رضا، بحضور وزير النقل والخدمات اللوجستية رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة العامة للموانئ المهندس صالح بن ناصر الجاسر، ورئيس الهيئة العامة للموانئ المهندس سليمان بن خالد المزروع.
وأكد رئيس الهيئة العامة للموانئ المهندس سليمان المزروع، أن هذه الشراكة تجسد التزام المملكة بتحقيق مستهدفات رؤية 2030 من خلال تحويل الموانئ السعودية إلى مراكز لوجستية عالمية المستوى، مبيناً أن «موانئ» تفخر بدعم الشراكات الإستراتيجية التي تعزز من الطاقة الاستيعابية، والترابط، والابتكار ضمن شبكتها، مؤكداً استمرار العمل على تعزيز مكانة المملكة كبوابة عالمية للتجارة، والمساهمة في دفع النمو الاقتصادي، والإسهام في مستقبل أكثر تنافسية واستدامة.
توسيع الطاقة الاستيعابية لميناء جدة الإسلامي
وتأتي المحطة الجديدة ضمن التزام شركة محطة بوابة البحر الأحمر بتوسيع الطاقة الاستيعابية لميناء جدة الإسلامي، في إطار عقد الإسناد والتشغيل الموقع مع الهيئة العامة للموانئ في عام 2020.
كما يهدف هذا الاستثمار إلى إنشاء بنية تحتية متطورة وتوفير معدات مناولة حديثة وتعزيز القدرات الرقمية والاستدامة، بما يسهم في رفع الكفاءة التشغيلية والموثوقية وتبني أحدث التقنيات في الميناء.
وتُسهم هذه الشراكة في رفع الطاقة التشغيلية السنوية لشركة بوابة البحر الأحمر إلى 8.8 مليون حاوية قياسية، وكذلك تعزيز جودة الخدمات وربط الشبكات الملاحية لعملاء الميناء، بالاستفادة من التغطية العالمية لمجموعة CMA CGM والمنصة التشغيلية الموثوقة لشركة بوابة البحر الأحمر، ما يدعم الجهود المستمرة لزيادة حجم المناولة وتنمية أعمال إعادة الشحن، وتعزيز مكانة البحر الأحمر كمحور رئيسي على ممر أوروبا - آسيا - أفريقيا.
يذكر أن ميناء جدة الإسلامي يُعد الأكبر على ساحل البحر الأحمر، بفضل موقعه الإستراتيجي واحتوائه على 62 رصيفاً متعددة الأغراض، ما يمنحه مكانة محورية إقليمياً ودولياً، ويسهم في تعزيز ريادة المملكة في القطاع البحري.
The General Authority for Ports "Ports" announced the signing of a joint agreement between the Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company and the French CMA CGM Group, one of the largest shipping groups in the world, to develop and operate the fourth container terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port, with investments of 1.7 billion riyals and a capacity of 2.6 million standard containers, during the events of the ninth Future Investment Initiative conference held in Riyadh.
The agreement was signed by the Chairman and CEO of CMA CGM, Rodolphe Saadé, and the Chairman of the Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company, Amer Ali Reza, in the presence of the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the General Authority for Ports, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and the President of the General Authority for Ports, Engineer Suleiman bin Khalid Al-Mazrou.
The President of the General Authority for Ports, Engineer Suleiman Al-Mazrou, confirmed that this partnership embodies the Kingdom's commitment to achieving the targets of Vision 2030 by transforming Saudi ports into world-class logistics centers, indicating that "Ports" takes pride in supporting strategic partnerships that enhance capacity, connectivity, and innovation within its network, affirming the continued efforts to strengthen the Kingdom's position as a global trade gateway and contribute to driving economic growth and fostering a more competitive and sustainable future.
Expanding the Capacity of Jeddah Islamic Port
The new terminal comes as part of the Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company's commitment to expanding the capacity of Jeddah Islamic Port, within the framework of the operation and management contract signed with the General Authority for Ports in 2020.
This investment also aims to establish advanced infrastructure, provide modern handling equipment, and enhance digital capabilities and sustainability, contributing to improving operational efficiency, reliability, and adopting the latest technologies at the port.
This partnership will raise the annual operational capacity of the Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company to 8.8 million standard containers, as well as enhance service quality and connect the shipping networks of port customers, benefiting from the global coverage of the CMA CGM Group and the reliable operational platform of the Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company, which supports ongoing efforts to increase handling volumes, develop transshipment businesses, and enhance the position of the Red Sea as a key hub on the Europe-Asia-Africa corridor.
It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest on the Red Sea coast, thanks to its strategic location and its 62 multi-purpose berths, which gives it a pivotal regional and international status and contributes to enhancing the Kingdom's leadership in the maritime sector.
