أصدر الديوان الملكي اليوم (الثلاثاء) بياناً أعلن فيه وفاة مفتي عام المملكة العربية السعودية جاء فيه: انتقل إلى رحمة الله تعالى صباح هذا اليوم (الثلاثاء) الموافق الأول من شهر ربيع الآخر من عام 1447هـ، سماحة الشيخ عبدالعزيز بن عبدالله بن محمد آل الشيخ المفتي العام للمملكة العربية السعودية، ورئيس هيئة كبار العلماء، والرئيس العام للبحوث العلمية والإفتاء، ورئيس المجلس الأعلى لرابطة العالم الإسلامي، وسيصلى على سماحته في جامع الإمام تركي بن عبدالله في مدينة الرياض بعد صلاة العصر هذا اليوم. وقد وجّه خادم الحرمين الشريفين -حفظه الله- بأن تقام عليه صلاة الغائب أيضًا في المسجد الحرام في مكة المكرمة والمسجد النبوي في المدينة المنورة وجميع مساجد المملكة بعد صلاة العصر هذا اليوم.
ولقد فقدت المملكة والعالم الإسلامي بوفاته عالمًا جليلًا أسهم بجهود كبيرة في خدمة العلم والإسلام والمسلمين.
ويعزي خادم الحرمين الشريفين وولي العهد أسرة الفقيد والشعب السعودي والعالم الإسلامي بوفاته -رحمه الله، تغمده الله بواسع رحمته ومغفرته وأسكنه فسيح جناته، إنه سميع مجيب، إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون.
The Royal Court issued a statement today (Tuesday) announcing the death of the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It stated: "His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars, President of the General Commission for Scientific Research and Ifta, and President of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League, passed away this morning (Tuesday), corresponding to the first of the month of Rabi' al-Thani in the year 1447 AH. Prayer will be held for him at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh after the Asr prayer today. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may Allah protect him - has directed that a funeral prayer also be held for him in the Grand Mosque in Mecca, the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, and all mosques in the Kingdom after the Asr prayer today."
The Kingdom and the Islamic world have lost a great scholar with his passing, who made significant efforts in serving knowledge, Islam, and Muslims.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince extend their condolences to the family of the deceased, the Saudi people, and the Islamic world for his passing - may Allah have mercy on him, grant him His vast mercy and forgiveness, and admit him into His spacious gardens. Indeed, He is All-Hearing and Responsive. Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return.
