المجلس الصحي يعتمد إجراءات جديدة لمكافحة العنف داخل المنشآت الصحية

The Saudi Health Council held its 111th meeting, chaired by the Minister of Health and President of the Saudi Health Council, Fahd Al-Jalajel, with the presence of council members representing health sectors and relevant entities, at the headquarters of the council's general secretariat.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Health praised the wide engagement from health sectors with the "Crown Prince's Blood Donation Campaign," and the high-quality services they provided to all members of the community, extending the humanitarian initiatives of the Kingdom's leadership and the established approach to caring for human health and enhancing the quality of life.

Electronic Tracking of Human Medication

During the meeting, a number of topics on the agenda were discussed, as the council reviewed several reports, including the electronic tracking system for human medication (Monitoring Platform) in preparation for health entities to fully match their stock of medications in warehouses with the Monitoring System, to govern the supply chain of medications, and the importance of achieving pharmaceutical security by enhancing the availability of medications, ensuring their safety, and combating counterfeiting.

The council reviewed the cancer incidence report in the Kingdom for the year 2023, and the report on the commitment of health sectors to enter and update family data in the electronic system, confirming the complete entry of data and its continuous updating in the capacity management system index.

Dealing with Cases of Violence

During its meeting, the council approved the national questionnaire for blood donors and its annexes, considering it a unified questionnaire across all health facilities to assess blood donors, which includes many inquiries related to health aspects and risk factors for infectious diseases; to ensure the donor's safety, health status, and the safety of the transfused blood, and to achieve the highest standards of quality and safety, which blood banks in the Kingdom follow to provide safe blood.

The council approved the mechanism for dealing with cases of violence, abuse, and neglect in public and private health facilities and their workers, to protect victims of violence and abuse in health facilities and how to handle those cases, in addition to approving an update to the medical coding system regulations.
