The Minister of Resources and Chairman of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, Engineer Ahmed Suleiman Al-Rajhi, launched the regulations for professional fitness examinations and non-communicable diseases; aimed at early detection of non-communicable diseases, promoting the health of workers in work environments, reducing the rate of occupational injuries and diseases, and ensuring the selection of the most suitable individuals for sensitive professions. Additionally, it aims to enhance prevention levels in workplaces and improve the quality of life and public health for workers; positively reflecting on their safety, performance, and productivity.

The regulations contribute to reducing work injuries, accidents, and occupational diseases by enhancing early preventive examination procedures and raising the physical and mental fitness levels of workers, ensuring they perform their tasks efficiently and safely. This also includes organizing medical examination mechanisms before hiring and periodic and exceptional examinations for those in high-risk professions; with the goal of protecting workers' health and standardizing medical examination models according to the nature of each profession. The regulations include the establishment of comprehensive health databases that support decision-makers and enhance preventive oversight, contributing to the development of work environments and increasing their efficiency.

The National Council for Occupational Safety and Health continues its efforts to improve compliance with national standards and relevant international agreements, enhancing the Kingdom's position on the global indicators map in the field of occupational safety and health.
