أحالت الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء أحد المقيمين العاملين في الدمام إلى النيابة العامة لبيعه مستحضرات صيدلانية غير مسجلة، كون المخالفة تُعد انتهاكًا صريحًا لأحكام نظام المنشآت والمستحضرات الصيدلانية والعشبية المطبَّق في المملكة، إذ تنص الفقرة (2) من المادة الرابعة والثلاثين على أن «من باع، أو صرف، أو حاز مستحضرًا صيدلانيًا أو عشبيًا مغشوشًا، أو فاسدًا، أو منتهي الصلاحية، أو غير مسجل بقصد الاتجار به، يعاقب بالسجن مدة لا تزيد على (10) سنوات، أو بغرامة مالية لا تزيد على (10) ملايين ريال، أو بكلتا العقوبتين معًا».
وشددت الهيئة على أهمية الالتزام بالأنظمة واللوائح التنظيمية التي وضعتها لتعزيز سلامة وجودة الأدوية والمستحضرات المتداولة في الأسواق السعودية، مؤكدةً أن مثل هذه المخالفات من شأنها أن تشكل خطرًا مباشرًا على صحة وسلامة المستهلك، وموجبة لتطبيق العقوبات النظامية بحق مرتكبيها.
ودعت «الغذاء والدواء» أفراد المجتمع إلى التعاون في الإبلاغ عن أي مخالفات يتم رصدها في المنشآت الخاضعة لإشرافها، من خلال الاتصال على الرقم الموحّد (19999)، حرصًا على تعزيز الرقابة وحماية الصحة العامة، مؤكدةً في الوقت ذاته أنها لن تتهاون مع كل ما من شأنه المساس بصحة وسلامة المنتجات.
The General Authority for Food and Drug Administration referred one of the inspectors working in Dammam to the Public Prosecution for selling unregistered pharmaceutical products, as the violation is considered a clear infringement of the provisions of the Pharmaceutical and Herbal Products Establishments System applied in the Kingdom. Paragraph (2) of Article 34 states that "whoever sells, dispenses, or possesses a pharmaceutical or herbal product that is adulterated, spoiled, expired, or unregistered with the intent to trade in it shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding (10) years, or by a financial fine not exceeding (10) million riyals, or by both penalties together."
The authority emphasized the importance of adhering to the regulations and organizational rules it has established to enhance the safety and quality of medicines and products circulating in the Saudi markets, asserting that such violations could pose a direct threat to the health and safety of consumers, necessitating the application of legal penalties against the offenders.
The "Food and Drug" Authority called on community members to cooperate in reporting any violations observed in the facilities under its supervision by contacting the unified number (19999), in order to enhance oversight and protect public health, while also confirming that it will not tolerate anything that could affect the health and safety of products.
