Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and on his behalf, the Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, will attend the closing ceremony of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran in its forty-fifth edition, which is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance at the Grand Mosque.

The ceremony comes as a culmination of the final qualifiers that lasted for six consecutive days at the Grand Mosque, gathering a number of Quran memorizers from various continents of the world, under the supervision of an international specialized judging committee.

During the ceremony, the top winners in the five branches of the competition will be honored, along with the members of the judging committee, in a spiritual atmosphere befitting the status of this international competition, which embodies the Kingdom's pioneering role in serving the Holy Quran and caring for its people.

This competition is considered one of the oldest Quranic competitions in the world, organized by the ministry under the supervision of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdulatif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, who oversees the local and international Quranic competitions. The current edition is the largest globally, with the participation of (179) contestants from (128) countries, marking the highest number of participating countries since its inception, competing in five Quranic branches with total cash prizes exceeding four million riyals, making it one of the largest competitions in terms of participation and prize value.
