تدين المملكة العربية السعودية بأشد العبارات موافقة سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية على بناء مستوطنات في محيط مدينة القدس المحتلة، وتستنكر تصريحات وزير الخارجية الإسرائيلي بمنع إقامة الدولة الفلسطينية، بصفتها انتهاكًا للقانون الدولي، وحق الشعب الفلسطيني غير القابل للتصرف في تقرير مصيره وتجسيد دولته ذات السيادة، وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، وفي مقدمتها قرار مجلس الأمن 2234 (2016) الذي يطالب إسرائيل بوقف الاستيطان في الضفة الغربية بما فيها القدس الشرقية، وعدم شرعية إنشاء إسرائيل للمستوطنات في الأرض المحتلة منذ عام 1967م، والرأي الاستشاري لمحكمة العدل الدولية الذي أكد بطلان ضم الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة وضرورة إنهاء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي.
وتؤكد المملكة أن هذه القرارات والتصريحات هي استمرار السياسات التوسعية غير القانونية لهذه الحكومة الإسرائيلية وعرقلتها لخيار السلام والتهديد الخطير لإمكانية حل الدولتين، مما يحتم على المجتمع الدولي تحمل مسؤولياته القانونية والأخلاقية وتوفير الحماية للشعب الفلسطيني وتلبية حقوقه المشروعة، بما في ذلك الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية، وإلزام إسرائيل بوقف عدوانها على غزة، وانتهاكاتها غير القانونية في الضفة الغربية والقدس الشرقية، ووقف الجرائم بحق الشعب الفلسطيني لا سيما التي ترقى إلى جرائم الإبادة ومحاسبة مرتكبيها.
وتجدّد المملكة رفضها القاطع للسياسات الإسرائيلية القائمة على الاستيطان والتهجير القسري وحرمان الشعب الفلسطيني من ممارسة حقوقه المشروعة، مطالبةً المجتمع الدولي وخاصةً الدول دائمة العضوية في مجلس الأمن باتخاذ الإجراءات الفورية لإلزام سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية بوقف جرائمها ضد الشعب الفلسطيني والأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة والامتثال للقرارات الأممية والقانون الدولي.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemns the approval of the Israeli occupation authorities to build settlements in the vicinity of the occupied city of Jerusalem, and denounces the statements of the Israeli Foreign Minister regarding the prevention of the establishment of a Palestinian state, as they constitute a violation of international law, and the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the realization of their sovereign state, as well as the relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them is Security Council Resolution 2234 (2016), which calls on Israel to cease settlement activities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the illegitimacy of Israel's establishment of settlements in the occupied territories since 1967, and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice which confirmed the invalidity of the annexation of the occupied Palestinian territories and the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation.
The Kingdom affirms that these decisions and statements are a continuation of the illegal expansionist policies of this Israeli government and its obstruction of the peace option, posing a serious threat to the possibility of a two-state solution, which necessitates that the international community assume its legal and moral responsibilities to provide protection for the Palestinian people and meet their legitimate rights, including recognition of the Palestinian state, compelling Israel to cease its aggression against Gaza, its illegal violations in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and to stop the crimes against the Palestinian people, especially those that amount to genocide and hold the perpetrators accountable.
The Kingdom reiterates its firm rejection of Israeli policies based on settlement and forced displacement and the deprivation of the Palestinian people from exercising their legitimate rights, calling on the international community, especially the permanent members of the Security Council, to take immediate action to compel the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their crimes against the Palestinian people and the occupied Palestinian land and to comply with international resolutions and international law.
