كشفت هيئة التراث رصدها (24) حالة تعدٍ على مواقع وقطع أثرية خلال شهر يوليو 2025، ضمن جهودها لحماية الإرث الثقافي الوطني، ومتابعة تنفيذ أنظمة حماية الآثار والتراث العمراني، حيث تنوعت المخالفات بين التعدي على مواقع أثرية بالنبش والتخريب، وممارسة أنشطة تنقيب غير مرخصة، وبيع قطع يشتبه بأهميتها الأثرية عبر المنصات الرقمية.
ووثقت الهيئة (11) مخالفة متعلقة بالتعدي على مواقع تراثية في مناطق مختلفة من المملكة، شملت مواقع في الرياض، والمدينة المنورة، والمنطقة الشرقية، والطائف، والجوف، إضافة إلى تنفيذ عمليات تنقيب أثري غير نظامية من قبل عددٍ من الأفراد وتوثيقها.
كما رصدت (13) مخالفة أخرى عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، تمثلت في عرض وبيع عملات أثرية وساعات قديمة وقطع تعود لعصور تاريخية متنوعة، مما يعد تجاوزًا صارخًا للأنظمة، حيث تم التعامل مع هذه المخالفات وفق الإجراءات القانونية، وأحيل عددٌ منها إلى النيابة العامة والجهات الأمنية.
وتنوعت العقوبات المقررة للمخالفين بين الغرامات المالية التي تراوحت من 5000 إلى 50000 ريال، ومصادرة القطع والأدوات المستخدمة، إضافة إلى تنفيذ إجراءات قضائية بحق بعض الحالات التي أحيلت للنيابة العامة بسبب جسامة التجاوز، وفقًا لما نصت عليه أنظمة حماية الآثار والتراث العمراني.
وأكدت هيئة التراث أن عمليات الرصد تتم عبر فرق متخصصة لذلك، بالإضافة إلى البلاغات المقدمة من المواطنين، في حين تواصل الهيئة جهودها التوعوية بالشراكة مع المجتمع المحلي لرفع الوعي بأهمية حماية المواقع والقطع الأثرية من العبث والاتجار غير المشروع.
وتدعو هيئة التراث جميع المواطنين والمقيمين إلى الإبلاغ عن أي تجاوزات أو مخالفات تمس المواقع أو القطع الأثرية، من خلال فروعها ومكاتبها في مختلف مناطق المملكة، أو عبر حساباتها الرسمية على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، أو من خلال الاتصال بمركز العمليات الأمنية الموحدة (911).
The Heritage Authority revealed that it recorded (24) cases of encroachment on archaeological sites and artifacts during July 2025, as part of its efforts to protect the national cultural heritage and monitor the implementation of laws protecting antiquities and urban heritage. The violations varied from encroachment on archaeological sites through excavation and vandalism, to engaging in unlicensed excavation activities and selling items suspected of their archaeological significance through digital platforms.
The authority documented (11) violations related to encroachment on heritage sites in various regions of the Kingdom, including sites in Riyadh, Medina, the Eastern Province, Taif, and Al-Jawf, in addition to carrying out unauthorized archaeological excavations by several individuals and documenting them.
Additionally, (13) other violations were recorded through social media, represented by the display and sale of ancient coins, old watches, and items from various historical periods, which constitutes a blatant violation of the regulations. These violations were addressed according to legal procedures, and several of them were referred to the Public Prosecution and security authorities.
The penalties imposed on violators varied between financial fines ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 riyals, confiscation of the items and tools used, in addition to legal actions against some cases referred to the Public Prosecution due to the severity of the violations, in accordance with the laws protecting antiquities and urban heritage.
The Heritage Authority confirmed that monitoring operations are carried out by specialized teams, in addition to reports submitted by citizens, while the authority continues its awareness efforts in partnership with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of protecting archaeological sites and artifacts from vandalism and illegal trade.
The Heritage Authority calls on all citizens and residents to report any violations or offenses affecting sites or archaeological artifacts, through its branches and offices in various regions of the Kingdom, or via its official accounts on social media platforms, or by contacting the Unified Security Operations Center (911).
