تواصل الشرطة البريطانية التحقيق في حادثة مقتل المبتعث السعودي محمد يوسف القاسم (21 عاماً)، الذي تعرّض للطعن مساء يوم الجمعة الماضي جنوب مدينة كامبريدج البريطانية حيث يدرس اللغة الإنجليزية في معهد «إي إف إنترناشونال لانغويتش كامبوسز» الخاص، لتعليم اللغة الإنجليزية.

وتشير التحقيقات الأولية إلى أن الجريمة وقعت إثر مشاجرة مفتعلة من قبل الجناة عند الساعة 11:30 مساء الجمعة، أثناء عودته إلى مقر سكنه الذي يبعد نحو 10 دقائق سيراً.
ووفق التحقيقات، قام أحد الجناة بافتعال مشاجرة مع القاسم في منطقة «ميل بارك» قبل أن يغدره بطعنة قاتلة بسكين، ليتم القبض على اثنين من المشتبه بهم ولا يزال ثالث هارباً.

ووفق الترجيحات في الحادثة، فإن اثنين من منفذي الجريمة من الجنسية البريطانية، أحدهما يبلغ 21 عاماً وآخر يبلغ 50 عاماً، وتواصل الشرطة البريطانية التحقيقات في ملابسات الجريمة.
وعُرفت عن القاسم جديته في دراسته، ويعد من الطلاب المتميزين وصاحب خلق متميز. وبادرت إدارة المعهد بالتعزية في وفاته، وعبرت عن حزنها العميق، مؤكدة أن الحادثة تُعد «واقعة فردية»، وأنها تعمل مع الشرطة في التحقيقات.
The British police continue to investigate the murder of Saudi student Mohammed Youssef Al-Qassim (21 years old), who was stabbed last Friday evening south of Cambridge, where he was studying English at the private institute "EF International Language Campuses."

Preliminary investigations indicate that the crime occurred following a fabricated altercation initiated by the perpetrators at around 11:30 PM on Friday, as he was returning to his residence, which is about a 10-minute walk away.
According to the investigations, one of the perpetrators instigated a fight with Al-Qassim in the "Mill Park" area before fatally stabbing him with a knife. Two suspects have been arrested, while a third remains at large.

According to estimates regarding the incident, two of the assailants are of British nationality, one aged 21 and the other 50, and the British police are continuing their investigations into the circumstances of the crime.
Al-Qassim was known for his seriousness in his studies and was considered one of the distinguished students with exceptional character. The institute's administration expressed its condolences for his death and conveyed its deep sorrow, affirming that the incident is considered a "singular event," and that it is cooperating with the police in the investigations.
