عقد البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن اجتماعاً، عبر الاتصال المرئي اليوم، مع لجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا «الإسكوا»، برئاسة مساعد المشرف العام للعلاقات المؤسسية رئيس قطاع الاتصال والتعاون الدولي عبدالله بن كدسه، ومدير مجموعة الحوكمة ودرء النزاعات في «الإسكوا» الدكتور طارق العلمي.
وجرت خلال الاجتماع مناقشة سبل تعزيز التعاون بين الطرفين، بما يسهم في دعم جهود التنمية في اليمن، إلى جانب استعراض فرص التوسع في مجالات العمل المشترك.
ويأتي اللقاء امتداداً للشراكة القائمة بين البرنامج والإسكوا، الذي أثمر في مراحل سابقة عن إصدار تقرير مشترك بشأن تفاقم الوضع الاقتصادي في أقلّ البلدان العربية نمواً، فضلاً عن تنظيم عدد من ورش العمل المتخصصة.
يُذكر أن البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن عقد نحو 40 شراكة فاعلة مع الجهات المحلية واليمنية والإقليمية والدولية، ضمن إستراتيجية متكاملة لدعم جهود التنمية في الجمهورية اليمنية الشقيقة، بالتعاون المستمر مع الحكومة اليمنية والسلطات المحلية.
The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen held a meeting today via video conference with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), chaired by the Assistant Supervisor General for Institutional Relations and Head of the International Communication and Cooperation Sector, Abdullah bin Qudsa, and the Director of the Governance and Conflict Prevention Group at ESCWA, Dr. Tarek Al-Alami.
During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation between the two parties were discussed, contributing to supporting development efforts in Yemen, along with reviewing opportunities for expanding areas of joint work.
This meeting comes as an extension of the existing partnership between the program and ESCWA, which has previously resulted in the issuance of a joint report on the worsening economic situation in the least developed Arab countries, in addition to organizing several specialized workshops.
It is worth noting that the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen has established around 40 effective partnerships with local, Yemeni, regional, and international entities, as part of a comprehensive strategy to support development efforts in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, in continuous cooperation with the Yemeni government and local authorities.
