أعلنت جامعة أم القرى عودة العمل بنظام الفصلين الدراسيين بدلاً من نظام الفصول الثلاثة الذي تم العمل به خلال السنوات الماضية وذلك اعتباراً من العام الدراسي الجديد 1447هـ.
وبينت الجامعة أن الفصل الأول سوف يبدأ مطلع شهر ربيع الأول القادم وينتهي يوم التاسع عشر من شهر رجب للعام الحالي، فيما سيبدأ الفصل الدراسي الثاني يوم التاسع والعشرين من شهر رجب وينتهي يوم العاشر من شهر محرم لعام 1448هـ.
وتضمن التقويم الدراسي للفصل الأول والذي أصدرته الجامعة إجازة اليوم الوطني والتي ستكون يوم الأول من شهر ربيع الآخر، فيما ستكون إجازة الخريف بنهاية دوام يوم التاسع والعشرين من شهر جمادى الأولى ولمدة عشرة أيام، فيما ستكون إجازة منتصف العام الدراسي يوم التاسع عشر من شهر رجب ولمدة عشرة أيام، فيما ستكون الاختبارات النهائية خلال الفترة من الثامن من شهر رجب وحتى يوم التاسع عشر من الشهر نفسه.
وتضمن تقويم الفصل الثاني إجازة يوم التأسيس والتي ستكون يوم الخامس من شهر رمضان المبارك، فيما ستبدأ إجازة عيد الفطر المبارك بنهاية دوام السادس عشر من شهر رمضان على أن تكون العودة لاستكمال الفصل الثاني يوم الأحد الموافق للعاشر من شهر شوال، فيما ستبدأ إجازة عيد الأضحى المبارك بنهاية دوام يوم السابع والعشرين من شهر ذي القعدة وتستمر حتى يوم الإثنين الموافق للخامس عشر من شهر ذي الحجة، على أن تبدأ الاختبارات النهائية يوم الثامن والعشرين من شهر ذي الحجة وتبدأ إجازة نهاية العام بنهاية دوام يوم العاشر من شهر محرم.
Umm Al-Qura University announced the return to the two-semester system instead of the three-semester system that has been in place over the past years, starting from the new academic year 1447 AH.
The university indicated that the first semester will begin at the start of the month of Rabi' Al-Awwal and will end on the nineteenth of the month of Rajab of the current year, while the second semester will start on the twenty-ninth of Rajab and will end on the tenth of Muharram of the year 1448 AH.
The academic calendar for the first semester, which was issued by the university, includes a holiday for the National Day, which will be on the first of the month of Rabi' Al-Thani, while the fall break will be at the end of the workday on the twenty-ninth of Jumada Al-Awwal for a duration of ten days. The mid-year holiday will be on the nineteenth of Rajab for a duration of ten days, and the final exams will take place from the eighth of Rajab until the nineteenth of the same month.
The calendar for the second semester includes a holiday for Founding Day, which will be on the fifth of the blessed month of Ramadan, while the holiday for Eid Al-Fitr will begin at the end of the workday on the sixteenth of Ramadan, with the return to complete the second semester on Sunday, the tenth of Shawwal. The holiday for Eid Al-Adha will begin at the end of the workday on the twenty-seventh of Dhul-Qi'dah and will continue until Monday, the fifteenth of Dhul-Hijjah, with final exams starting on the twenty-eighth of Dhul-Hijjah and the end-of-year holiday beginning at the end of the workday on the tenth of Muharram.
