أعرب رئيس فلسطين محمود عباس، عن بالغ شكره وتقديره لجهود المملكة العربية السعودية، ومواقفها المشرفة بقيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، التي أسهمت في الالتزام الفرنسي التاريخي بالاعتراف بدولة فلسطين.
ورحّب الرئيس الفلسطيني برسالة الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، التي أكد فيها عزم بلاده على الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين خلال انعقاد الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في سبتمبر القادم، مثمّناً هذه الخطوة الشجاعة التي من شأنها الإسهام في إرساء السلام على أساس حل الدولتين، وفقاً للشرعية الدولية وأحكام القانون الدولي.
وأكد أن هذه الخطوة تمثل انتصاراً للحق الفلسطيني، وتعكس حرص فرنسا على دعم الشعب الفلسطيني وحقوقه الثابتة والمشروعة في أرضه ووطنه، والتزامها بالشرعية الدولية، حاثّاً دول العالم إلى اتخاذ خطوات مماثلة، والاعتراف بدولة فلسطين على أساس حل الدولتين المعترف به دوليًّاً، استناداً إلى قرارات الشرعية الدولية.
The President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its honorable positions under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, which contributed to the historic French commitment to recognize the State of Palestine.
The Palestinian president welcomed the message from French President Emmanuel Macron, in which he confirmed his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in September, valuing this courageous step that would contribute to establishing peace based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy and the provisions of international law.
He affirmed that this step represents a victory for Palestinian rights and reflects France's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate and established rights in their land and homeland, as well as its adherence to international legitimacy, urging the countries of the world to take similar steps and recognize the State of Palestine based on the internationally recognized two-state solution, grounded in international legitimacy resolutions.
