أعلنت وزارة الثقافة بالتعاون مع وزارة التعليم إطلاق «أكاديمية الفنون والثقافة»، وهي مدارس حكومية تُعدُّ الأولى من نوعها في المملكة، وتُعنى باكتشاف ورعاية وتنمية المواهب الثقافية لدى الطلاب والطالبات في مراحل التعليم العام، وتستهل نشاطها في عامها الأول بطلاب وطالبات الصف الرابع الابتدائي، والصف الأول المتوسط في مدينتَي الرياض وجدة.

وتجمع هذه الأكاديمية التعليمية الوطنية بين التعليم الأكاديمي المعتمد، وبين البرامج الثقافية المتخصصة ضمن بيئة تعليمية محفّزة وثريّة، تستهدف في مرحلتها الأولى طلاب وطالبات الصف الرابع الابتدائي، والصف الأول المتوسط، ممن يملكون مواهب وقدرات في أحد المجالات الثقافية والفنية «الرسم، والمسرح والتمثيل، والعزف، والغِناء» على أن تتوسع مستقبلاً لتشمل جميع المراحل الدراسية، وتغطي مناطق مختلفة.
وتُقدِّم الأكاديمية المنهج الدراسي الأساسي المعتمد من وزارة التعليم إلى جانب برامج ثقافية مكثفة، ضمن جدول يومي متكامل يوازن بين التعليم الأكاديمي والثقافي الإبداعي، وسينقسم اليوم الدراسي فيها إلى فترتين صباحية ومسائية، الأولى مخصصة للمواد الأساسية، والثانية للبرنامج الثقافي.
وتنطلق الأكاديمية في العام الدراسي القادم 1447-1448هـ/2025-2026 في موقعين، الأول في حي النخيل بمدينة الرياض (مخصصة للبنين)، والثاني في حي الشراع بمدينة جدة (مخصصة للبنات)، وتمرّ عملية القبول في الأكاديمية بثلاث مراحل تبدأ من التسجيل بالمنصة، ومن ثم إجراء تقييم أداء ومقابلة شخصية للطالب، وأخيراً إشعار الطالب بنتيجة القبول، مع الأخذ بالاعتبار أن القبول مشروط باجتياز مراحل التقييم كافة، وبحسب أعداد المقاعد المتاحة.
وتندرج الأكاديمية تحت مظلة إستراتيجية تنمية القدرات الثقافية، التي أطلقتها وزارتا الثقافة والتعليم في وقت سابق؛ بهدف تعزيز الثقافة والفنون وإدراجها في مراحل التعليم العام، مع ما يتضمنه ذلك من تطوير للقدرات والمهارات الثقافية والفنية للأجيال الشابة، وربط مخرجات التعليم باحتياجات السوق الثقافية، ودعم الاستدامة في القطاع الثقافي.
The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has announced the launch of the "Academy of Arts and Culture," which is a government school and the first of its kind in the Kingdom. It aims to discover, nurture, and develop cultural talents among students in general education stages, starting its activities in its first year with fourth-grade elementary students and first-year middle school students in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah.

This national educational academy combines accredited academic education with specialized cultural programs within a stimulating and rich educational environment. In its first phase, it targets fourth-grade elementary students and first-year middle school students who possess talents and abilities in one of the cultural and artistic fields, such as "drawing, theater and acting, playing instruments, and singing," with plans to expand in the future to include all educational stages and cover different regions.
The academy offers the basic curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education alongside intensive cultural programs, within a comprehensive daily schedule that balances academic education with creative cultural education. The school day will be divided into two periods: a morning session dedicated to core subjects and an afternoon session for the cultural program.
The academy will launch in the upcoming academic year 1447-1448 AH / 2025-2026 in two locations: the first in Al-Nakheel neighborhood in Riyadh (designated for boys) and the second in Al-Shiraa neighborhood in Jeddah (designated for girls). The admission process to the academy consists of three stages, starting with registration on the platform, followed by performance evaluation and a personal interview for the student, and finally notifying the student of the admission result, taking into account that admission is conditional upon passing all evaluation stages and based on the number of available seats.
The academy falls under the umbrella of the Cultural Capacity Development Strategy, which was launched by the Ministries of Culture and Education earlier, aiming to enhance culture and the arts and integrate them into general education stages. This includes developing the cultural and artistic skills of young generations, linking educational outcomes to the cultural market needs, and supporting sustainability in the cultural sector.
