مطار أبها يعتمد إجراءات جديدة لشحن «السمن والعسل»

The Asir Development Authority, in partnership with the Second Airports Group, announced new procedures to facilitate the shipping of ghee and honey products through Abha International Airport, categorizing them as part of the weighted luggage, according to an approved mechanism, in collaboration with the airport's operating company.

The authority indicated that this initiative comes as an extension of the directives of the Emir of Asir Region, Chairman of its Development Authority, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, and with direct support from the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej. It aims to enable products from the Asir Region to reach markets outside the region through major logistics platforms.

The Asir Region is one of the most prominent areas in the Kingdom for producing natural honey and local ghee, which are among the most important components of local food heritage. They witness wide demand from visitors and consumers due to their high quality and nutritional and heritage value.

This step contributes to facilitating the movement of product shipments from the region and enhancing its competitiveness at the national level, in line with the authority's efforts to drive sustainable economic development, support productive families and entrepreneurs, and elevate the level of integration between the productive and tourism sectors in the region.
