The Ministry of Municipalities has classified a number of practices in warehouses and storage facilities as explicit violations that warrant penalties, including the use of facilities within residential neighborhoods or in non-commercial streets for storage purposes without a license, or the existence of warehouses in unauthorized locations within the urban area. It emphasized that random storage is one of the main sources of danger in neighborhoods, due to the threats it poses to safety and the encroachment on designated land uses.

The municipalities and housing authorities stressed the necessity of adhering to the requirements for warehouses and storage facilities, urging citizens and residents to promptly report any unauthorized storage violations through official channels.

It clarified that these measures are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life and improve the urban landscape in Saudi cities, as well as to protect public safety and reduce random practices that expose residents and infrastructure to multiple risks, the most prominent of which is fires.

The municipalities stated that reporting unauthorized storage directly contributes to reducing the risk of fires, halting random activities, enhancing safety measures, and ensuring a safe and organized environment that complies with approved regulations, which positively reflects on the urban environment as a whole.

It explained that community awareness and initiative in reporting play a vital role in the success of these efforts. To facilitate the reporting process, the ministry reminded that it is possible to contact the unified reporting center at the number 940, or by using the "Capture and Send" service available in the "Baladi" app, where users can select the "Unauthorized Storage" report and upload a photo documenting the violation directly.
