اختتم الوفد السعودي مشاركته في مؤتمر BIO الدولي للتقنية الحيوية بمدينة بوسطن الأمريكية بتوقيع أكثر من 17 مذكرة تفاهم واتفاقية تعاون مع جهات دولية، وذلك ضمن أعمال الجناح السعودي الذي تقوده وزارة الصحة ويضم 25 جهة حكومية وخاصة، لتعزيز الشراكات الإستراتيجية وتعزيز حضور المملكة على خارطة الابتكار الصحي عالميًا، وذلك تماشيًا مع مستهدفات برنامج «تحوّل القطاع الصحي»، والإستراتيجية الوطنية للتقنية الحيوية ضمن رؤية المملكة 2030، الرامية إلى بناء «مجتمع حيوي»، و«اقتصاد مزدهر» نحو مستقبل تنافسي ومستدام.
وشهد الجناح الذي يعد أحد أضخم الأجنحة الدولية وأول مشاركة للمملكة في مؤتمر Bio اهتمامًا واسعًا، واستقبل أكثر من 6000 زائر خلال 4 أيام، وشهد تنظيم جلسة حوارية رفيعة المستوى، وحفل استقبال كبار الشخصيات الذي حضره أكثر من 300 من التنفيذيين وصنّاع القرار، إلى جانب إطلاق «المسرعة الحيوية» بمشاركة 8 شركات سعودية ناشئة.
وسجل الوفد زيارة لعدد من الشركات في مدينة سان فرانسيسكو، والالتقاء بعدد من ممثلي الشركات العالمية والمؤسسات البحثية، حيث عقد أكثر من 50 اجتماعًا مع الجهات الدولية لبحث سبل التعاون وتبادل الخبرات في مجالات التقنية الحيوية والابتكار الصحي.
The Saudi delegation concluded its participation in the international BIO conference for biotechnology in Boston, USA, by signing more than 17 memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements with international entities. This was part of the activities of the Saudi pavilion, led by the Ministry of Health and comprising 25 governmental and private entities, aimed at enhancing strategic partnerships and boosting the Kingdom's presence on the global health innovation map. This aligns with the objectives of the "Health Sector Transformation" program and the national biotechnology strategy within the framework of Vision 2030, which aims to build a "vibrant community" and a "prosperous economy" towards a competitive and sustainable future.
The pavilion, which is one of the largest international pavilions and the Kingdom's first participation in the BIO conference, witnessed wide interest, receiving more than 6,000 visitors over four days. It also hosted a high-level panel discussion and a reception for VIPs attended by over 300 executives and decision-makers, in addition to launching the "biotechnology accelerator" with the participation of eight Saudi startup companies.
The delegation recorded visits to several companies in San Francisco and met with representatives from global companies and research institutions, where more than 50 meetings were held with international entities to discuss ways to collaborate and exchange experiences in the fields of biotechnology and health innovation.
