أعلنت أمانة المنطقة الشرقية بالتعاون مع إدارة مرور المنطقة الشرقية، البدء في تنفيذ أعمال صيانة ورفع كفاءة نفق طريق الملك فهد بن عبدالعزيز، مع تقاطع طريق الأمير فيصل بن فهد، بالخبر، ضمن جهودها لتعزيز منظومة الطرق، والسلامة المرورية وتحسين البنية التحتية.
وتتضمن أعمال المشروع إغلاق طريق الملك فهد بن عبد العزيز، (باتجاه الخبر) ابتداءً من أسفل جسر الملك سلمان، وتحويل الحركة إلى طريق الخدمة الموازي، إلى جانب إغلاق الإشارة المرورية لتقاطع طريق الملك فهد بن عبد العزيز، مع طريق الأمير فيصل بن فهد، وإغلاق دخول المركبات إلى طريق الأمير فيصل بن فهد، مع الإبقاء على خيار الدوران متاحًا للمركبات.
ونوهت الأمانة إلى أن هذه الأعمال، ستبدأ يوم السبت 3 محرم 1447هـ الموافق 28 يونيو 2025، وتهدف إلى رفع كفاءة الطريق والنفق وتعزيز السلامة، مشيرة إلى أن الأعمال ستتم وفق خطة لضمان انسيابية الحركة وتقليل التأثير على مستخدمي الطريق.
ودعت الأمانة جميع سالكي الطريق إلى اتباع الإرشادات المرورية المحدثة، والتقيد بالتحويلات المعتمدة خلال فترة التنفيذ، مؤكدة أن الفرق الميدانية ستكون متواجدة لتنظيم الحركة ومتابعة التنفيذ، بالتنسيق مع إدارة المرور.
وأشارت إلى أن المشروع يأتي ضمن خطة شاملة لتحسين أداء شبكة الطرق والأنفاق في المنطقة الشرقية، بما يسهم في تحقيق مستهدفات جودة الحياة وسلامة الطرق في المدن.
The Eastern Province Municipality, in collaboration with the Eastern Province Traffic Department, announced the commencement of maintenance and efficiency enhancement works for the King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Tunnel, at the intersection with Prince Faisal bin Fahd Road, in Khobar, as part of its efforts to enhance the road system, traffic safety, and improve infrastructure.
The project works include the closure of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road (towards Khobar) starting from under King Salman Bridge, and redirecting traffic to the parallel service road, in addition to closing the traffic signal at the intersection of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road with Prince Faisal bin Fahd Road, and closing vehicle access to Prince Faisal bin Fahd Road, while keeping the option to make a U-turn available for vehicles.
The municipality noted that these works will begin on Saturday, the 3rd of Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to June 28, 2025, and aim to enhance the efficiency of the road and tunnel and improve safety, indicating that the works will be carried out according to a plan to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize the impact on road users.
The municipality urged all road users to follow the updated traffic instructions and adhere to the approved detours during the implementation period, confirming that field teams will be present to organize traffic and monitor the execution, in coordination with the traffic department.
It pointed out that the project is part of a comprehensive plan to improve the performance of the road and tunnel network in the Eastern Province, contributing to achieving the targets of quality of life and road safety in the cities.
