The brother of the murdered Osama Bakr Qadi from Dhahran revealed to "Okaz" the details of the incident in which his brother was stabbed multiple times inside his home in Dhahran by the perpetrator, who is of Egyptian nationality.

The victim's brother indicated that the perpetrator came to his brother's house claiming to be a delivery representative, but it later became clear that he had come seeking money under the threat of a weapon.

He said: "My murdered brother did not hesitate to give him money at that time, but the perpetrator's greed led him to stab my brother several times, which resulted in his death (may God have mercy on him)."

The victim's brother continued: "The perpetrator also stabbed my brother's wife multiple times under the pretext of robbery, and she was taken to the hospital for treatment. She is now in good health after receiving medical care, thank God."

Osama Qadi added: "This is God's decree and it is written. The deceased - may God have mercy on him - had a noble character and served the noble hadith for more than 46 years."

Regarding his murdered brother, Osama Qadi said: "May God have mercy on our father Bakr Abdullah Abdulrahim Qadi, who encouraged him to work on the encyclopedia of the noble hadith and supported him with encouragement and money. After his death, my brother Ismail Bakr Qadi was a supporter and helper in everything, along with my brother Abdullah Bakr Qadi."

Osama Qadi said: "My murdered brother, Dr. Abdul Malik, dedicated his life and time to this matter. May God have mercy on him and grant him a place in His vast paradise. I thank the security men for their efforts in the case, and the funeral prayer and burial for the deceased - may God have mercy on him - took place in the Eastern Province."

A large crowd attended the funeral of Dr. Abdul Malik Bakr Qadi (74 years old) on Thursday afternoon after the prayer was held for him at King Fahd Mosque in Khobar Housing, and he was buried in Al-Thuqbah Cemetery.

The Eastern Province police announced through their spokesperson that the security authorities arrested a resident of Egyptian nationality for committing a murder against a citizen in Dhahran and for assaulting the victim's wife with multiple stab wounds, which led to her being hospitalized in critical condition.

They confirmed that the investigation revealed a previous interaction between the perpetrator and the victim, and that the motives for the crime were related to an attempted robbery due to financial demands on the perpetrator in his home country. The accused has been detained, and legal procedures have been taken against him, and he has been referred to the public prosecutor.

The business developer and Saudi writer Hassan Qadi mourned his uncle, saying: "My uncle, the late scholar and servant of the prophetic biography, Dr. Abdul Malik bin Bakr Qadi, passed away yesterday. May God have mercy on him, forgive him, and cleanse him of sins."

For his part, Dr. Obaid Al-Abdali told "Okaz": "He was my neighbor for about 10 years, and he was a good man and a great neighbor."

Meanwhile, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals mourned the deceased through its account on the "X" platform, stating: "With great sadness, we extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Dr. Abdul Malik Qadi, former faculty member at the university, asking God to envelop him in His vast mercy and grant his family, colleagues, and loved ones patience and solace."

The late Abdul Malik bin Bakr Abdullah Abdulrahim Ahmad Qadi obtained a PhD in the noble hadith from Al-Azhar University, a master's degree in the Book and Sunnah from Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, and a bachelor's degree in Sharia and Education from the same university.

The late Abdul Malik Qadi held the position of Dean of Student Affairs from Dhul-Qi'dah 1412 to Rabee' Al-Akhir 1417 AH, and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs from Muharram 1412 to Dhul-Qi'dah 1412 AH, and Head of the Department of Islamic and Arabic Studies from Sha'ban 1404 to 1410 AH.

The deceased had numerous research papers in the series of encyclopedias on the noble hadith and women's hadith, and he headed the delegation of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals at the first cultural week for universities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in Kuwait in 1404 AH.
