هيأت أمانة المنطقة الشرقية 979 حديقة عامة وساحة، و18 متنزهاً، و213 مضمار مشي، و14 واجهة بحرية وكورنيشاً بالمنطقة الشرقية، حيث تم تجهيزها بكافة الخدمات اللازمة من مسطحات خضراء وألعاب أطفال، ومظلات وملاعب لممارسة الرياضات المختلفة، وذلك ضمن جهودها لاستقبال عيد الأضحى المبارك، من خلال أعمال الصيانة والزراعة بالمنطقة، وتحسين المشهد الحضري، وتحقيق أهداف جودة الحياة، ومبادرة السعودية الخضراء، من خلال زيادة الرقعة الخضراء، ورفع نسبة نصيب الفرد من المسطحات الخضراء، وصولاً لتحقيق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
وأوضحت الأمانة أنها عملت خلال شهر مايو الماضي على تكثيف أعمال الزراعة في الدمام، بالتزامن مع موسم الإجازة الصيفية، وعيد الأضحى المبارك، حيث انتهت من تنسيق وزراعة أشجار وورود في الشوارع الرئيسية والفرعية والحدائق بعدد ٣٣١,٠٧٢، إضافة إلى إصلاح ٣٧٩,٤٣٥ متراً مربعاً من الحدائق والمسطحات الخضراء بالدمام.
وأشارت الأمانة إلى أنه تم إصلاح ملاعب الأطفال في الحدائق والأماكن العامة بمساحة بلغت ٢٢,٣٥٠ متراً مربعاً، إضافة إلى زراعة الورود والزهور الموسمية في كافة أنحاء مدن ومحافظات المنطقة الشرقية.
The Eastern Province Municipality has prepared 979 public parks and squares, 18 recreational areas, 213 walking tracks, and 14 waterfronts and corniches in the Eastern Province. These areas have been equipped with all necessary services, including green spaces, children's playgrounds, canopies, and sports fields for various activities, as part of its efforts to welcome the blessed Eid al-Adha, through maintenance and landscaping works in the region, improving the urban landscape, achieving quality of life goals, and the Saudi Green Initiative, by increasing green areas and raising the per capita share of green spaces, aiming to meet the targets of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The municipality clarified that it intensified planting activities in Dammam during the past month of May, coinciding with the summer vacation season and Eid al-Adha. It completed the coordination and planting of trees and flowers in the main and secondary streets and parks, totaling 331,072, in addition to repairing 379,435 square meters of parks and green spaces in Dammam.
The municipality also indicated that children's playgrounds in parks and public areas have been repaired, covering an area of 22,350 square meters, in addition to planting seasonal flowers and blooms throughout the cities and governorates of the Eastern Province.
