في حين تختتم غداً (الخميس) فعاليات الأسبوع التمهيدي للطلاب والطالبات المستجدين في الصف الأول الابتدائي للعام الدراسي الجديد، اقترح عدد من أولياء الأمور إعادة النظر في فعاليات الأسبوع التمهيدي الذي تقيمه المدارس الابتدائية والطفولة المبكرة في بداية كل عام دراسي.
قالوا إن التباين في تنفيذ الفعاليات بين المدارس يدفع إلى حدوث بعض الاجتهادات الخاصة من مديري ومديرات المدارس والمعلمين والمعلمات. وطالبوا أن تتولى شركة «تطوير»، الذراع التنفيذي لوزارة التعليم، الإشراف على فعاليات الأسبوع من خلال جهات متخصصة تركّز في الأسبوع التمهيدي على الجوانب النفسية والتربوية والاجتماعية للطلاب والطالبات وأولياء أمورهم على حدٍّ سواء، وفق آلية محددة وبرامج تربوية وتعليمية تراعي خصائص المرحلة.

وأكد عدد من أولياء الأمور لـ«عكاظ» أن غالبية البرامج تركّز على الترفيه والاستعانة بشخصيات كرتونية وتنفيذ مسابقات رياضية، والمأمول تنظيم لقاءات توعية وإرشاد حول كيفية التعامل مع الطالب المستجد، والاستعانة في ذلك بمتخصصين وأكاديميين في الجوانب النفسية.
وأكد المتحدثون أهمية تقديم إرشادات تتضمّن توضيحاً حول الوجبات الصحية للطالب طوال مسيرته التعليمية، خصوصاً في المرحلة الابتدائية والمتوسطة، التي تكتمل فيها مراحل النمو الجسدية والعقلية والنفسية والاجتماعية.

They stated that the variation in the implementation of activities among schools leads to some individual interpretations from school principals and teachers. They called for the "Taqdeer" company, the executive arm of the Ministry of Education, to oversee the week’s activities through specialized entities that focus on the psychological, educational, and social aspects for both students and their parents during the introductory week, according to a specific mechanism and educational programs that take into account the characteristics of the stage.

A number of parents confirmed to "Okaz" that the majority of programs focus on entertainment and involve cartoon characters and sports competitions, and they hope for the organization of awareness and guidance meetings on how to deal with new students, utilizing specialists and academics in psychological aspects.
The speakers emphasized the importance of providing guidance that includes clarification about healthy meals for students throughout their educational journey, especially in elementary and middle school, where physical, mental, psychological, and social growth stages are completed.
